Purpose
The Preservation Green Lab, of The National Trust for Historic Preservation, is developing case studies of high-performance historic buildings. Showcasing unique buildings that successfully blend historic preservation and measured energy performance, these case studies will provide inspiring stories and best practices, including detailed information about project financing, energy performance, and historic preservation approaches.
We want to hear your story! If you are willing to provide information about your building and contribute to our case studies catalog, and you have completed or are in process of completing a historic renovation with demonstrated or anticipated energy efficiency improvement of 30 percent or greater, please complete the form below to get started!
Important: We require detailed energy performance data as part of the case study.
Please provide at least one of the following for both pre-retrofit and post-retrofit conditions:
- Energy Use Intensity (EUI) expressed in kBtu/sf/year – actual or modeled
- Energy Star Portfolio Manager account access (PGL will provide easy instructions for this confidential process)- Summary report of energy performance (e.g., Energy Star Portfolio Manager rating report)
- Utility bills (12 months minimum) or raw fuel and electricity consumption data (e.g., therms and kWh) – actual or modeled
- Access to your utility account directly through your utility provider
