• ICIRA PROPOSAL APPLICATION

  • The Idaho Council of the International Reading Association invites you to enter a proposal to present at our annual conference held at Boise State University on April 26, 2014.  Proposals must be submitted by March 20, 2014.

  • Our focus this year is "Tell Me A Story".  We encourage a variety of proposals around that topic.  Please note this conference is not limited to literacy teachers, but can reach content area teachers as well as media specialists and librarians.  In addition to teachers, this conference will include children's authors as wella s editors and publishers of children's literature.  Each person submitting a proposal will be notified by March 30, 2014 of the status of their proposal.

  • Creative, innovative presentations that involve the audience are recommended and should be limited to 50 minutes. Teachers, professors, instructors, and administrators are invited to submit proposals including, but not limited to, these areas: Elementary/Middle School/High School language arts and reading teaching methods, Community college or university teaching methods, Literary analysis, Writing tips (Narrative, Argumentative, Information, Content Area), Using language arts standards in the classroom, Bridging the gap between grade levels, Multimedia in the classroom, Genre-based lessons, Specific author or literature presentation, Six plus traits of writing, SBAC preparation, Dual-enrollment classes, AP/Honors classes, Technology in the language arts classroom.
  • Presenters receive a $50 discount on conference registration fees (given at conference check-in). Presenters will not be paid for their presentations or reimbursed for travel expenses. **ICIRA DOES NOT ENDORSE COMMERCIAL PRESENTATIONS.**
