LONE TREE STAFF STANDARD OF CONDUCT
1st Corinthians 10:23 Christian Liberty: "Everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible, but not everything is constructive. Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others."
1st Corinthians 10:31 Christian Example: "So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it ALL for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jew, Greek, or the church of God - even as I (Paul) try to please everybody in everyway. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved. Follow my example as I follow Christ."
The following are listed only as a guide to help ensure the smooth, safe operation of the camp program, and to maintain a Christ-like community within our full time and summer staff. It is in no way complete since there will be times and areas where you will have to practice your own Christian Liberty and say "no" to some things even if you feel they are not wrong. More complete guidelines are explained in each camp's Staff Handbook which you may request prior to employment.
No fireworks (because of the dry conditions).
No guns or hunting.
No dogs / cats or pets (except for full time staff and must be approved by the Camp Director prior to your arrival).
No chewing tobacco or smoking of any kind.
On movies: Remember that you represent the Lord and the camp. Please use care in the selection of the movies you see.
On dating: Remember why you are here this summer - for ministry. Although a ministry is a great place to meet others of the opposite sex, serious relationships can hinder the quality and quantity of time that you should be spending with your campers and other staff members. Dating among summer staff is strongly discouraged. Staff members who are unable to handle their responsibilities due to a relationship will have their contract terminated and be asked to leave.
No alcoholic beverages of any kind.
No loaning of vehicles or money. This keeps any staff disputes to a minimum.
No profane language, fighting, loss of temper, or impatience with camp guests.
Radios are permitted as long as they are not heard outside of staff housing and you are not disturbing your room-mates. If you do listen to secular music, please use headphones so you do not offend your roommates. Radios are not permitted in camper housing as we are trying to promote a natural setting.
No staff other than kitchen staff or those having business in food service are allowed in the kitchen.
Please do not leave the camp property unless: a. Your responsibilities are fully completed or covered. b. You have notified the Director or person in charge.
To avoid burnout, make sure you are getting sufficient rest on the weekends and spending quality time with the Lord each day.
Absolutely no guys in the girl's dorm and no girls in the guy's dorm.
On appearance: Please dress with Christian modesty as a representative of Christ. Be aware of your camp’s policy on hairstyles, jewelry/piercing and tattoos. ALL TATTOOS MUST BE COVERED WHILE CAMPERS ARE ON THE PROPERTY.
All staff are required to be at all morning devotions and staff meetings on time unless approved duty conflicts.
Staff members are subject to dismissal when the Camp Director determines that his/her conduct or attitude is detrimental to the campers, staff or camp.
