A Veteran Referee will have preference on assignments, an effort will always be made to schedule everyone with around the same number of games per season. There may be times due to schedule conflicts, a veteran can not cover a game. This is where you (as a fully trained referee) will be asked to fill that time slot.
Restrictions for newly trained referees
Regardless of your age, you will START training at the U7 level.
*At the Referee Coordinator's discretion exceptions can be made.*
In the event that you don't have the opportunity to officiate a game after your "On Field Training" period has been completed. You will still have an opportunity to get paid as a "Floating Trainee".
Snack Shack (Floater)
A fully trained referee's primary responsibility as a floater is to work in the "Snack Shack"
A Floater's secondary assignment is to officiate any game in the assigned time slot that a scheduled referee unexpectedly can not complete. If all Referees show up for their assigned games, then the Floater is to assist in the Snack Shack.
Floater responsibilities
A Floater will assist in taking orders from customers and help keep the Snack Shack organized and running smoothly.
A Floater assigned to the first and last game of the day is responsible for assisting in the setup for the 1st game, and is responsible for assisting in the clean up of the Snack Shack for the last game.
Note* - There will always be an adult present to open & close the Snack Shack.
