At the heart of the Foundation's efforts are grants which are distributed throughout the school year to benefit Gull Lake Community Schools. There are two main categories:
Single-Year Grants and Multi-Year Grants
Single-year grants fall into three general catergories:
1. Student grant - These grants are for students who want to explore further a subject they have been studying. Applications accepted throughout the school year until May 1.
2. Staff grant - These grants are for staff who want to enhance their in-class expertise. Grants can fund training, additional resources, in-the-field experiences, residencies, and partnerships. Applications accepted throughout the school year until April 1.
3. General grant - These grants are requested by administrators and staff for resources to purchase new equipment and to develop creative, new programs or projects. Applications accepted throughout the school year until April 1.
Multi-year grants fund innovative projects within GLCS for a period of up to three (3) years. The intent and ambition of this grant category is to develop and implement programmatic, innovative ideas that have a focused impact, leverage resources, and build sustainability.
