2013-2014 CBPA PTO OFFICER NOMINATIONS
CBPA PTO is currently seeking CBPA parents to fill the open positions for the following officer positions to serve on the Executive Board from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014. If you are interested or would like to nominate someone you think would be a great candidate, please complete the form below and send it back to school with your child. The current President or another officer will correspond and/or meet with interested parents and will post a slate of officers-elect at the PTO meeting in May. Please contact a current PTO officer with any questions you have about the open positions and process. Although nominations are open until the PTO Meeting on May 21, 2013, we would like to prepare a ballot of nominees by May 17, 2013.
Vice President: Act as an aide to the President, perform the duties of the President in the absence or inability of that officer to serve, act as a liaison between committee chairpersons and the Executive Board, work with Treasurer and fundraising committees as needed, and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Board. Ideally this candidate is willing to serve as President the following school year. (2-yr commitment with on average 4-6 hours per month, in addition to the monthly meetings, although it depends upon roles)
Treasurer: Be responsible for and have custody of all funds, make disbursements as properly authorized, assure that PTO policies and best practices are followed with regards to funds, prepare financial reports for each meeting, work with event chairs involving fundraising activities, preparation and submission of US Tax Form 990-EZ and the Minnesota Attorney General Annual Report, and as needed, prepare the financial records for an annual audit. Perform duties as assigned by the President or Vice President. (2-yr commitment with on average 6-8 hours per month, in addition to the monthly meetings)
Communication Secretary: The communication secretary shall create the PTO’s monthly newsletter, manage social media efforts through various channels, work with committee chairs to create and print flyers for PTO events and act as public relations liaison to the community on behalf of the PTO. The communication secretary shall send communications to PTO members as needed. (1 yr commitment with an average of 3-5 hours per month, in addition to the monthly meetings)
Event Coordinator (non-voting): Coordinate social activities, including but not limited to the welcome breakfast for teachers, supervise room parents for class parties, family nights and other social activities that take place at CBPA. (1 yr commitment with an average of 3-5 hrs per month, in addition to the monthly meetings)
Webmaster (non-voting): Maintain and update PTO website, as well as making the PTO website more user-friendly to communicate with school families. Work with Communication Secretary to distribute PTO Newsletters via email & posting on the website. (1 yr commitment with an average of 3-5 hrs per month and attend PTO meetings once per trimester)
