GUIDELINES AND SUBMISSION
The Project Narrative should be limited to two pages, single-spaced, with one-inch margins and a font size no smaller than 11 point. The narrative should address the following:
a. Nature, scope, and objectives of proposed project. Should include a statement of the intellectual, scientific, scholarly, pedagogical, and/or creative significance of project. May also include description of the basic ideas, problems, and/or questions addressed; potential impact on the field; plans for dissemination of the product of research (monograph, article, conference paper, exhibit, performance, etc).
b. Methodology and timeline. Should include arrangements for access to necessary archives, galleries, collections, laboratories, etc., where relevant. Some may prefer to present timeline in tabular form.
c. Relation of project to applicant’s professional development (teaching and/or research). Should include a brief statement on how the R&CP grant will enable the applicant to contribute more fully to the intellectual and creative life of the university, including (when relevant) promotion of innovative pedagogies and collaborations.
· Keep in mind that applications are reviewed by faculty from each college. Limit use of jargon and discipline-specific terminology (when possible).
· Be aware that reviewers will take into account the clarity, coherence, and completeness of the application. Be as specific as possible.
· Reviewers will evaluate proposals for evidence that the project or project segment can be completed within the stated timeline.
