Thank you for your interest in the Literacy Design Collaborative (LDC) method training. This work is being done in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio STEM Learning Network, the Ohio High Schools That Work network, the Ohio Making Middle Grades Work network, and BattelleEd. Applications are due January 24, 2014.
The BattelleEd LDC training is open to educators connected to:
1. the Ohio High Schools That Work (HSTW) network and/or
2. the Ohio Making Middle Grades Work (MMGW) network.
First preference will be given to schools or districts with a team of 3 - 5 teachers (with teachers represented from each content: social studies, science, english language arts and career technical). Each school should select a "coach-in-training" to attend additional sessions to support their school team.
If your school or district is selected, there is no cost to participate in the training. However, participants will need to arrange their own transportation.
The LDC method training is broken into sessions:
LDC Part I - February (18 and) 19, 2014 (regional location to be determined)
LDC Part II - March (25 and) 26 or April (1 and) 2, 2014 (regional location to be determined)
LDC Part III - June (16 and) 17, 2014 (regional location to be determined)
* Please note the first day of each session (in parenthesis) is only for the selected "coaches-in-training" and the second day is for your
entire LDC school team.
Notice of application status will be delivered by January 29, 2014. If you have any questions, contact Kelly Gaier at gaierk@battelle.org or 614-403-8642. Please note, completing this application does not guarantee placement in the training.
This application is intended to be completed by a school principal or lead administrator. Please be sure you are prepared to complete the entire application as you will not be able to save your answers and return at a later date. Additionally, please note that we are asking:
1. the coach-in-training to complete an application; and
2. each teacher applicant to sign a brief statement of commitment.
