Criteria:
- Candidates must be an alumnus/alumna of Carson-Newman University. Alumni are considered those who received a degree from Carson-Newman University or attended at least one semester at the University.
- Selected recipients will have demonstrated the following:
- Distinguished career and/or calling
- Involvement in his/her community
- Active engagement with the University through at least one of the following:
- Financial support
- Participation in university events and/or programs
- Student recruitment and/or mentoring
- Volunteer support of university programs
- Nominations for posthumous awards are considered.
Conditions:
Current alumni board members and Carson-Newman faculty/staff are not eligible to receive this award.
Selection Process:
A completed nomination form may be submitted by any alumnus/na; member of the Board of Trustees, C-N administration, faculty or staff, student body; and/or friend of the University.
All nominations will be vetted by the Offices of Advancement and Alumni Relations to confirm criteria has been met. A selection committee will review eligible nominations and make recommendations of candidates to the President and senior leadership team for final selection and approval. The Alumni Relations Office will contact nominators should additional information be needed and regarding the nominees selected.
