  • Program fee of $200, nonrefundable, to "CLTA-VA" c/o Taiwan Summer 2015 no later than Friday, Feb 20, 2015 to "6501 Deidre Terrace, McLean VA 22101"   The reservation is not confirmed until the deposit is received. Upon the completion of the program, the fee of $100 will be returned in Taiwan. 

    If you are Chinese subject teacher, and would like to renew or join Chinese Language Teacher Association in Virginia (CLTA-VA) membership, please add $25 to the payment total.

    During these four days, we will provide both an overview and a selection of specific topics in Taiwanese education, culture and society, ie. Music, art, or history.

    7/3 morning – group presentation by each group(facilitator by Tina Kao)

    In the afternoon – cohesive thematic unit to work collaboratively to design a cohesive thematic unit that for incorporating elements of Chinese art, culture and society into language and subject areas instruction.

    Field visits/cultural exploration

    Participants will utilize the information and experiences provided during first two weeks and visit many local schools, communities, and historic sites. Ie

    新竹苗栗─客家文化

    Hsinchu city – Hakka culture in Taiwan)

    2.彰化鹿港─台灣宗教

    (Jiayi city – Taiwan Religious Culture)

    3.台南─府城文化

    (TaiNan city historical sites, the East meets the West)
