The Engineering Employment EXPO committee is one of Engineering Council's constituent committees. EXPO's primary objective is to organize and run two major engineering job fairs on campus. In the Fall, the committee runs the Engineering Employment EXPO, which is one of the largest engineering job fairs in the entire country. This event spans 2 days and attracts companies from all over the United States. The second fair held is the Spring EXPO. This event is held early in the Spring semester and is only one day long.

** Internal Affairs Coordinator: The Internal Affairs Coordinator is responsible for designing and ordering the shirts, nametags, and other apparel for the EXPO Committee. In addition, this person is responsible for day of activities that the Co-Directors need assistance with. Finally, the Internal Affairs Coordinator is in charge of organizing social events and bonding for the committee. This position provides the most opportunity to get into the inner workings of the committee.
** External Affairs Co-Coordinator (2 positions): The main purpose of this position is to coordinate corporate relations for EXPO. One of the main tasks is corporate registration at EXPO, where at the start of each day, you will sit in the entrance with a laptop and check in the reps as they arrive. The External Affairs Coordinator also works on recruiting new companies to attend EXPO, developing the new sponsorship package, continuing strong relations with companies that currently attend EXPO, and designing and reviewing a survey of company representatives. Finally, the External Affairs Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the supplies for student nametags, as well as organizing the student nametag process during the days of EXPO.
** Corporate Events Planner (2 positions): Once during each EXPO, the committee hosts a Networking Social Event for companies and/or students. The Corporate Events Planner is responsible for planning this event. Responsibilities include coordinating the event with the host venue, creating advertisements for the event, and making sure that the event is marketed well to both recruiters and students. Previous event planning experience is preferred, but not required. The Corporate Events Planner is also responsible for ordering the corporate gift.
** Parking & Shipping Coordinator (2 positions): When the date of EXPO nears, many of the companies ship their displays to the University. The shipping coordinator and is responsible for working with the person in charge of shipping at the location of EXPO as well as Central Shipping/Receiving for the University. They are responsible for making sure that packages make it to the correct destination. They are also responsible for helping companies find missing packages during the fair. In addition, the Shipping/Parking Coordinator is responsible for reserving parking spots for corporate parking during the EXPO and also for any other purposes.
** Interview Rooms Coordinator (2 positions): Interview rooms are commonly requested by companies each day. The responsibilities of this position require close interaction with Engineering Career Services (ECS) and Grainger Library and many others to reserve interview rooms early on for the day of and the days following the EXPO. As the fair approaches, companies must be assigned interview rooms and be notified via email and a paper copy to be distributed during the fair.
** Website Co-Coordinator (2 positions): Much of our contact with the companies as well of the students is done electronically. It is expected that the Website Coordinator be experienced or willing to learn things such as web design, web programming, database programming, and database management. We have a website that needs to be kept current. It holds information for the companies about things such as registration and information for the students such as companies attending right around the fairs. The Website Coordinator also needs to be able to work well with the Android and iOS Developers so as to provide them with all the API's and information that they may need.
Facilities Coordinator: The Facilities Coordinator is in charge of working with units of the University such as the Illini Union and the ARC to ensure that facilities are booked and that any problems are taken care of. This committee member is also responsible for planning the Corporate Lunch and making sure that there is food available throughout the day(s) of EXPO. In addition, this person will be responsible for organizing the table layout for companies at the fair.
** Information Liaison: The information Liaison is responsible for putting together the brochures that are given to representatives of each company on the day of the fair. These brochures contain information about the college and career fair. The information liaison decides what is most valuable to corporate representatives, and gathers the materials necessary to design and print the brochures.
** Design and Publications Coordinator (1 positions) + Social Media Coordinator (1 positions): Although this is one of the largest job fairs in the country, the success of the fair depends largely on the attendance of the students. It is the job of the Marketing Coordinator to get the information about the fair to the students of the College of Engineering. They are responsible for writing and placing advertisements in multiple weekly newsletters. They will also be responsible for placing advertisements around the Engineering Campus and on MTD buses. Creativity is very important for this position, so any style of advertising would be a welcome addition. The main objective is to have as many Engineering students as possible attend the job fairs. In addition, for each of the job fairs, we produce information booklets. These have lists of the companies attending, table layouts, descriptions of companies, and advertisement for companies. The Publications Coordinator is responsible for producing the information booklet and working closely with a printing service to ensure that the booklets are produced on time and with the proper information.
Treasurer (2 positions): This person keeps track of the funds for the committee. Even though we are a subcommittee of Engineering Council, we are also our own Registered Student Organization. This person is therefore required to attend a RSO Treasurers workshop at the beginning of the year in order to learn how to keep track of funds, use the voucher system, and learn all of the other administrative roles of RSO. This person is in charge of keeping track of, processing, and depositing company payments as they come in for the fairs. This person also works with the committee chair along with the Engineering Council President and Secretary-Treasurer to make sure that Engineering Council and their societies receive the necessary funding.
** Information Sessions Coordinator (2 positions): This person/committee will be responsible for organizing information sessions for all the companies who have requested them for EXPO. Responsibilities will include: contacting company reps, reserving suitable rooms, ordering food and beverages for attendees, and showing up to help facilitate the info-sessions. The Information Sessions Coordinator must work well with others and be comfortable when interacting with corporate representatives.
** iOS Developer: This person is responsible for leading changes and improvement to the EXPO iOS App. It is expected that the iOS Developer be experienced in iOS App development. This person will work closely with the Android Developer and the Webmaster to ensure that both the iOS and Android app mirrors each other. The iOS Developer will lead improvements in the EXPO Mobile app to enhance its features.
** Android Developer: This person is responsible for leading changes and improvement to the EXPO Android App. It is expected that the Android Developer be experienced in Android App development. This person will work closely with the iOS Developer and the Webmaster to ensure that both the iOS and Android app mirrors each other. The Android Developer will lead improvements in the EXPO Mobile app to enhance its features.
