  • Requesting Data from NYSED's Office of Information and Reporting Services

    NYSED makes much of its data publicly available. Data not publicly available can be requested, but not all requests can be honored. All requests will be reviewed, and if approved, will be prioritized. Requests deemed to require data extraction work of more than two hours of staff time will be converted to a FOIL request and handled as such. Please use the drop down menu below to find sources of publicly available data. If you can't find what you're looking for, you'll be prompted to submit a data request form. PLEASE NOTE: Please do not use Internet Explorer to submit this form. Please only use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

  • data.nysed.gov is NYSED's Public Data Access Site.


    Public school data available here includes enrollment, report cards, 3-8 assessment results, high school graduation, annual professional performance review ratings, and special education.

    Postsecondary Education data available here includes Teacher Education Program certification exam passing rates and Teacher Education Program employment rates

    Users of this site can access statewide data reports or view reports for an individual county, district, BOCES, school, or institution of higher education using the navigation bar at the top of the page. New data will be added as available.

  • www.p12.nysed.gov/irs/statistics/enroll-n-staff/home.html is a source for Public School Enrollment Data. Data here is presented in spreadsheet format by many variables, such as district, school and grade and can be opened or saved to your computer.

    Data.      Data here is presented in spreadsheet format by many variables, such as school, grade, county and district of residence and can be opened or saved to your computer.

  • www.p12.nysed.gov/irs/pmf/ is a source for Teacher and Staff Data  . Reports available here contain data about annual salary, age, gender, experience, degree status, average class size and certification status.

  • www.p12.nysed.gov/irs/press.html is a source for Public school 3-8 ELA/Mathematics Results and High School Graduation Results.

  • www.oms.nysed.gov/sedref/home.html is a site where you can query NYSED's SEDREF system. SEDREF is the system that maintains directory information for all institutions NYSED interacts with, including public school districts, school buildings, nonpublic and charter schools, BOCES and institutions of higher education, among others. Reports available here contain institution contact info (phone,fax,email,url), administrative contact info (phone,fax,email,url) and physical & mailing addresses for institutions. Also available are reports separation out institutions by different categories.
