The Vision

Welcome!

Mayor Ras J. Baraka and the Newark Youth Council invites you to our first Youth Summit. The mayor's vision behind the Newark Youth Council is to have them create a connection between the youth and the city through different events.

Therefore, on March 21, 2015, the Newark Youth Council will be hosting a conference revolving around the theme, "Empowering our Youth by Building and Connecting". The purpose of the summit is to build connections between Newark high school students and youth development services in the city of Newark as well as empowering the youth through their interaction with hands-on workshops and resources. The Youth Summit will engage over 100 Newark public and charter high school students through workshops, guest speakers, a youth resource fair and live entertainment. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all conference participants.
