The Campus Village Community Assistant, under the direct supervision of the Office Manager, and the Director, are responsible for creating a vibrant and safe environment at the Campus Village Housing Office and Community Center. Duties may include managing the information/service desks, the fitness center, and computer lab. In the efforts to provide Community Assistants, the fullest work experience in Campus Village, staff will rotate shifts between the Front Desk and Community Center. Additionally, successful candidates must have the ability to answer phones, file, type, copy, and work independently. Community Assistants must be prompt for assigned shifts, and have a commitment to provide excellent customer service. Accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality is required.

- Weekly hours during the academic year are approximately 9-15 hours/week.
- Weekly work hours during summer months, winter and spring breaks are approximately 19-40 hours/week.
Position Description
CV Housing Office
* Open/Close CV Office
* Provide excellent customer service to each person calling or visiting the Office
* Assist RA’s with primary & secondary check-out/check-in duty bag
* Answer phones, process work orders, and take accurate and detailed messages
* Check front desk e-mail daily for online work orders and messages
* Keep supply inventory
* Distribute housing and USPS mail to the appropriate office staff mailboxes
* Provide administrative support to professional staff
* Adhere to all Campus Village and University of California policies and procedures
* Serve as a positive role model in the community
CV Community Center (should the center open to the public)
* Operate cash register for sales of small convenience items
* Keep accurate income reports
* Check in/out of indoor and outdoor equipment, vacuums, magazines, etc.
* Update equipment tracking log as equipment and resources are checked out
* Keep bulletin boards and calendars updated
* Keep Community Center desk and office lobby neat and clutter-free
* Log all lost and found items
* Monitor lock-out key distribution
* Communicate with team through ongoing conversation log to keep staff informed of projects and all important information
* Monitor activities within the CV Community Center including Game Room, TV Room, Fitness Center, and Lounges
* Adhere to all Campus Village and University of California policies and procedures
* Serve as a positive role model in the community
