Student Technology Consultants provide first level technical support and assistance for students, faculty, staff and alumni on classroom and office hardware and software and on students’ personal computers.
Information Technology is especially looking for individuals who have, or are eager to develop:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
- Knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, common software packages including Microsoft Office, and common hardware and peripherals.
Successful candidates will have a lively interest in technology. They will be detail oriented, able to follow directions well, and have the ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment. They will work in a variety of situations on any given day, including maintaining computer labs and classrooms, assisting with campus events and video recording/editing and equipment assistance, assisting faculty, staff and students with their technology needs, troubleshooting issues on Macs and PCs, and developing documentation, web pages and self-help materials for the Le Moyne community.
Area placement will depend on the interests, skills and qualifications of the candidate.
Students offered positions will be required to commit to up to 5 days of paid training the week of August 21-26 prior to the start of the semester. In addition, ongoing paid training will take place over the course of the academic year, and just prior to the start of Spring Semester.
Hours– 8-12 per week
Starting Pay Rate: $9.70
