OUR ADOPTION PROCESS

To begin the adoption process, please fill out an application. The application is non-binding, and you can change your mind at any time. If the information provided suggests a potential match, a meet and greet with all family members and pets will be scheduled. All HPC cats and dogs are altered and vaccinated prior to adoption. The adoption fee is $100 for most dogs, but that may vary for puppies and seniors. The fee range for cats and kittens is $50-75. Since we are an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) rescue, it may take a day or two to process your application, so please be patient.

We must be sure that you are aware of the financial commitment and responsibilities related to owning a companion animal. Yearly expenses will likely be more, and often much more, than $500...for food, routine veterinary exams, vaccinations, licensing, heartworm medication (dogs), flea and tick control, and supplies (collars, leashes, cat carriers, beds, toys, etc.), and that amount doesn't include unforeseen medical care provided by your veterinarian or potential visits to an emergency clinic.
