2015 Assessment of Faculty Technology and Instructional Development Services
College of Education and Human Services - Western Illinois University

You are invited to participate in a quality assurance and improvement survey, designed to aid the College of Education and Human Services in planning for the provision of adequate instructional technology resources, design assistance, and training provided to COEHS faculty on both the Macomb and Quad Cities Campuses.

Please take a few moments to provide honest reflections of your experiences with technology during the time spent in our College. This study is conducted by Katrina Daytner, Interim Associate Dean for Administration, College of Education and Human Services and Dawn Sweet, Instructional Development Services Manager, College of Education and Human Services from Western Illinois University.

This study will take approximately 4 to 5 minutes of your time. You will be asked to complete an online survey about your area of concentration within the college and provided your opinions regarding the availability and quality of technology related facilities, support, training and related assistance. You will be asked to answer questions related to frequency of technology use in your courses, types of collaborative groups you assign work to, technology related course projects, how you yourself use various types of technology, and your preferred methods for receiving technology training and assistance from the College. You will be asked your opinion of your overall feeling of preparedness to teach technology in your discipline, and will have the option to provide further recommendations for improving the state of technology and instructional services within the College of Education and Human Services.

Your decision to participate or decline participation in this study is completely voluntary and you have the right to terminate your participation at any time without penalty. You may skip any questions you do not wish to answer. If you do not wish to complete this survey just close your browser.

Your participation in this research will be completely confidential and data will be averaged and reported in aggregate. Possible outlets of dissemination may be WIU Annual Reporting, Administrator Meetings, COEHS Deans and Department Chairpersons, Faculty and Instructional Development Services staff. Although your participation in this research may not benefit you personally, it will help us collect data to understand the technology and instructional needs that exist within our campus community, and assist us in creating linkages to create a community of sharing.  There are no risks to individuals participating in this survey beyond those that exist in daily life.

If you have questions about this project, you may contact Katrina Daytner 309.298.1690 (KM-Daytner@wiu.edu) or Dawn Sweet 309.298.2993 (DR-Sweet@wiu.edu).
