2015 Assessment of Alumni Technology and Instructional Development Services
College of Education and Human Services - Western Illinois University

You are invited to participate in a quality assurance and improvement survey, designed to aid the College of Education and Human Services in planning for the provision of adequate instructional technology resources, design assistance, and training.

Please take a few moments to provide honest reflections of your experiences with technology during the time spent in our College. This study is conducted by Katrina Daytner, Interim Associate Dean for Administration, College of Education and Human Services and Dawn Sweet, Instructional Development Services Manager, College of Education and Human Services from Western Illinois University.

This study will take approximately 4 to 5 minutes of your time. You will be asked to complete an online survey about your career field and provide your opinions on how your knowledge of technology has affected hiring decisions, the degree to which you were provided support, training and related assistance while at WIU, the degree to which you were required to use technology throughout your coursework in your program of study at WIU, and whether you feel that you were adequately prepared to use technology effectively in your profession. You will be asked your opinion of your overall feeling of preparedness to use technology in your discipline, and will have the option to provide further recommendations for improving the state of technology and instructional services within the College of Education and Human Services.

Your decision to participate or decline participation in this study is completely voluntary and you have the right to terminate your participation at any time without penalty. You may skip any questions you do not wish to answer. If you do not wish to complete this survey just close your browser.

Your participation in this research will be completely confidential and data will be averaged and reported in aggregate. Possible outlets of dissemination may be WIU Annual Reporting, Administrator Meetings,  COEHS Deans and Department Chairpersons, Faculty and Instructional Development Services staff. Although your participation in this research may not benefit you personally, it will help us collect data to understand the technology and instructional needs that exist within our campus community, and assist us in creating linkages to create a community of sharing.  There are no risks to individuals participating in this survey beyond those that exist in daily life.

If you have questions about this project, you may contact Katrina Daytner 309.298.1690 (KM-Daytner@wiu.edu) or Dawn Sweet 309.298.2993 (DR-Sweet@wiu.edu).

This project has been reviewed and approved by the WIU Institutional Review Board. Questions concerning your rights as a participant in this research may be directed to the Compliance Specialist, at (309) 298-1191 or IRB@wiu.edu.
