Description

The LA Galaxy Photo Team are seeking a freelance digital photo editor for remaining home games at StubHub Center. The primary responsibilities of the photo editor are the intake and processing of game action photos by the team's photographers, reviewing and editing the photos in Adobe Lightroom for picture quality and caption accuracy, and transmitting them to in real time to the LA Galaxy Communications and Digital Department.

This position requires strong judgment of both picture quality and soccer action imagery. The photo editor will be required to be familiar with the team's players and news stories along with the basic elements that make a good sports action photograph.

The photo editor will recieve instruction on correct image selection, color correction requirements, proper cropping technique, image captioning proceedures, and transmitting of completed images.  Photo editor will receive timely and constructive feedback from photographers and communications & digital team with regards to successful or missing coverage elements.

This is a paid work for hire position on LA Galaxy game days.

 

Qualifications

o    Candidates must demonstrate excellent photo and sports judgment and the ability to work accurately and with speed under deadline pressure.

o    At least one or more year of experience working in Adobe Lightroom 5 or higher.

o    Excellent understanding of the sport of soccer.

o    Experience with Apple iPad and photo editing apps.

o    Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

o    The successful candidate must be willing and able to work potential playoff games in Nov/Dec.

o    Working knowledge of Gmail, Photoshop, Photo Mechanic and other photo-related programs.

o    The ability to work on Apple Mac operating systems.

o    Basic understanding of both Canon and Nikon camera systems.
