• Mission Grant Application Form

  • Read and follow the instructions carefully prior to submitting your application. Partial applications will not be considered. Please make sure that you have gathered and entered all of the necessary information prior to submitting the online application. There is not the ability to save a partially completed application to return to later.

    Applications will be reviewed the month following the quarterly application deadline. Notification will be within 30 days. Grants/Scholarships will be remitted 30 days following notifications. The Grant Committee is authorized to make final decisions concerning applications between meetings of the synod. All approved grants will be reported to the next meeting of the synod. Applications for grants with deadlines will not be considered if submitted late.

  • Any Presbyterian organization within the synod may apply for Mission Grants. However, priority will be given to applications from partnerships with two or more congregations, presbyteries, institutions related to synod by covenant, multicultural endeavors (or committees of these organizations). The synod becomes a financial partner when the grant is approved.

    Each application is reviewed in light of the fact that the synod includes four states, eleven presbyteries, numerous institutions, and a diversity of members. The distribution of funds will reflect this diversity of needs and geography as much as possible. Each project, program, or event can receive only one grant per year.

    Some grants are from endowments or other funding sources which limit the beneficiaries with categories of age, ethnic background, status as an orphan, size of church, etc.

    An evaluation must be sent to the synod within 30 days after the purpose of the grant is fulfilled. It will indicate to what extent the goals and purposes of the grant were met.

    Acknowledgment: Wherever these grants are mentioned in a report, brochure, financial statement or budget, acknowledgement must be noted as follows: "A grant from the Synod of the Sun."

     All correspondence and award agreements will be generated from the information submitted below. So, please use proper spelling, capitalization and punctuation.

    PLEASE NOTE: If you have received a grant from the Grants and Scholarships Commission in the past, please submit your follow-up report before requesting another grant.
