Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Associates Program, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Be a current veteran, soon-to-be discharged U.S. military personnel or member of the National Guard or National Guard Reserve.
- Be currently residing or plan to reside in a qualified Colorado community and plan to stay in your community for a minimum of two years.
- Have been honorably discharged* from the military.
*Upon acceptance into the program, you will be asked to present your passport or green card and a Member Copy-4 of DD214.

Here are some important tips before you commence completing this form:
- Some questions in this application ask you to describe your goals and previous life experiences. You may find it helpful to find a quiet, uninterrupted period of time when you can think about formulating a thoughtful response. If you need to take a break and return to complete your form at a later date, you may do so by simply closing your browser window. As you work on your application, your information is set to auto-save every 4 seconds, and the information you input will be retained for four weeks from the date you start the application.
- You will be asked to upload a résumé, even if you have an updated LinkedIn profile. Please have a current copy handy, if you would like to upload it.
- You will be asked for 3 references. You should identify your three references, get their approval and be prepared to input their names, phone numbers and email addresses when prompted in this online form.

Background Check

Note that all applicants who are offered a spot in our Associates Program will be required to submit to a criminal background check; final acceptance into the program will be contingent on our evaluation of and approval after the findings. In order for us to run a background check, we will need additional information, including, but not necessarily limited to, addresses of your previous residences and your social security number.

Having a criminal background does not automatically render you ineligible for our program.

Section V: Your Colorado Community
An important part of our mission is to raise the public's awareness of who serves in the U.S. military today, about our veterans' diverse experiences during active duty and about their transition experiences into the civilian world. We believe that by hearing from our troops, civilians will become more educated and informed, while gaining a deeper appreciation of the freedoms that we all enjoy.

To that end, our program includes a public service requirement two times a year. An example of such a service would be a speaking engagement either at schools and/or community events or other sharing in a public forum. While we offer some guidance and a venue, if applicable, you will have control over what you share. If you have different ideas for how you would like to shape your events, we are open to considering them.

We view this public service component as important to cultivating a more informed and supportive community.
