20 Slides. 20 Seconds each.

Bring YOUR ideas to the main stage of ICON8!

We're inviting you to share your story, perspective, philosophy, challenges, or just what makes you tick by showing us what the conference theme of Work & Play means to you. Submit a casual, fast-paced, presentation to ICON8's KALEIDOSCOPE – a rapid slideshow talk event in the style of Pecha Kucha / Ignite / Lightning Talks (20 slides x 20 seconds per slide) – and become part of the programming at ICON8.

This is our way of opening up the sandbox and inviting you to come and play – on stage! If you have ever wanted an opportunity to share your ideas with a highly creative audience, here is your chance to share them with a sold out conference crowd of fellow artists, art directors and educators!

The deadline for submissions is May 31, 2014. Submissions will be reviewed the week of June 1, 2014 and four (4) attendees will be notified by June 15, 2014 to confirm their selection. Entries will be selected based on quality and originality of content, visual presentation, and interestingness. Please note that this opportunity is open to current attendees only and you must be present at ICON8 on Saturday, July 12, 2014 to speak.

Images should be sized to Ratio: Widescreen (16:9) 1920 x 1080 pixels in landscape orientation formatted in Keynote or PowerPoint. Attachments should all be titled with your last name (i.e. Vizcarra_application.txt) and archived as a single attachment (.zip / .rar) or provided via a download link. Your presentation uploaded or linked here should include 3-5 sample images that would be included in your presentation. Your final presentation, if selected, must include 20 slides projected at the speed of 20 seconds per slide for a projection run time of 6 minutes 40 seconds. The audio portion of your presentation will be made live, onstage, by you, so do not attached audio clips.

KALEIDOSCOPE PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Engagement: You, the EXHIBITOR to the best of your ability, agree to make a professional presentation of your work at the ICON8 KALEIDOSCOPE EVENT, according to the terms and condition of the Agreement.

1. Term: This Agreement is effective as of the date signed by you and shall continue in effect until:

   a. Canceled by either you or ICON8 consistent with Paragraph 5, or

   b. Concluded by completion of your participation.

2. Risk: You shall present your slideshow at KALEIDOSCOPE AT ICON8 as described by this Agreement at your own risk. You shall indemnify and hold harmless ICON8 from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, or expense arising from your participation.

3. Cancellation: ICON8 reserves the right to cancel the event, change the length or size of the event or change the place of the event at its discretion at any time.

COPYRIGHT RELEASE

1. ICON8 acknowledges your right as an author to copyright your own work. Unless otherwise disclosed in writing to ICON8, the material that you submit to ICON8 is your sole, exclusive and original work; there exists no adverse claims to or in your work to the best of your knowledge.

2. If you use any copyrighted materials owned or licensed by others, you agree to obtain permission for ICON8 to duplicate by hard copy, electronic format or other media, such copyrighted materials so ICON8 may avail itself of the rights specified above.

3. ICON8 may make audio-visual and/or sound recordings of KALEIDOSCOPE. Therefore, ICON8 shall have the non exclusive right to reproduce, distribute, display, perform or distribute copies of the audio-visual and/or sound recordings related to the KALEIDOSCOPE to the public using any means of distribution, display, or performance available to ICON8, for any lawful purpose pre-event, during the event and post event. In connection therewith, ICON8 shall have the right to permit others to display and perform the sound recordings and/or audio-visual recordings.

4. ICON8 reserves the right to have attendees complete an evaluation of the KALEIDOSCOPE event, and shall have the right to store information generated by the evaluation forms for the use and planning of future presentations, conferences and seminars.

5. ICON8 shall have the non-exclusive right to publicize KALEIDOSCOPE and its exhibitors to the public, including use of participating artists’ company names, trademarks, websites, biographical information and photos submitted to ICON8 for such use.
