Notes about volunteering:
1) Ready to start volunteering right away? From May to November, the Giving Garden at Coogan Farm needs volunteers on a nearly daily basis. We welcome regular and one-time volunteers, and you don't need to wait and hear back from our Volunteer Coordinator to sign up. 2) Animal care is a popular area of interest and usually has a waiting list for volunteers. We would love to place all our interested volunteers right away, but we often have a period of some time before we can place in animal care. If you'd like to volunteer in other areas in the meantime, please let us know in this application.
3) Areas such as seasonal decorating and special events tend to be one-day commitments with many volunteers on a single day, usually in the fall. Even if you regularly volunteer in a different area, we'd love your help with our events. We need dozens of volunteers for Woodland Egg Hunt in spring, Wild Mushroom Festival and Spooky Nature Trails in fall, and Luminaria in winter, please join us!
4) Habitat restoration and trail management often have group work days, we'll notify you when they are scheduled. If you are an expert in the area of native plantings, invasives and related areas and would be interested in leading trail maintenance events or working on habitat restoration projects, please let us know more about your interest, availability and area of expertise.
