      My recording venue:
The venue I use most often is Greenville Church in Scarsdale, NY (about 20 minutes north of Manhattan and accessible by train). It has incredible acoustics and a fantastic new 9-foot Steinway piano. I keep a lot of equipment there, so set-up times are much shorter than on-location recordings. If you choose to record there, please note that the church kindly asks for a small $50 donation.

      Video recording:
Audition/ competition videos will only require 1 camera. For live concerts and studio recordings, you may choose to go with a one-camera shoot, which will be a wide shot of the stage (or tight shot of the soloist) or to go with a multi-camera shoot, which is suitable for YouTube and promotional videos. Production times will go up slightly for multi-camera shoots (additional set-up time and editing time in post production).

      For live concerts:
Please clear with the appropriate staff at the venue that you will be bringing in a recording engineer to record your concert. If you are performing at the beginning of the program, the staff at the venue must be notified that I will be arriving early to set up and there must be a person present to let me in! Please note I cannot set-up during a live concert, so in every situation, I will need to arrive early to the concert.

Here are the average set-up times for typical recording projects:

        For audition/ competition recordings:
      -Soloists and singers: 20 - 45 minutes
-Ensembles (trios, quartets, quintets, etc.): 45 minutes - 1 hour
      -Orchestras and Operas: 45 minutes - 1 1/2 hours

For commercial releases or YouTube ready videos (live or studio):
-Soloists and singers: 1 hour - 2 hours
-Ensembles (trios, quartets, quintets, etc.): 1 hour - 3 hours
-Orchestras and Operas: 2 hours - 4 hours

*These set-up times will vary depending on the venue and the complexity of the project.

      Piano tunings:
I can tune the piano if you feel it needs it and will affect your recording. Standard rate applies ($100 per hour).

      Head shots and other photos:
Pro photography is available as well. Please inquire for more info. Stills can be pulled from concert video footage as well.

Editing, Mixing, Mastering and Delivery of your recordings:
I operate out of a home studio in Riverdale. For best editing results, please scan the music and write directly onto the score the parts you want edited. Video can also be edited, taking the best moments from different takes. Turnover is generally 2 weeks. If you are faced with a short deadline and need it sooner, I charge a small "expedited delivery" fee.
