  • Please use this form to submit your information for funding an award. We know that it looks long and intense, but you only have to submit the fields that apply to you, so it’s really rather simple. Promise. Leave any field blank that doesn’t apply to you, except the few required bits of information at the beginning.

  • We also accept non-monetary sponsor gifts. Examples: book bundles, gift cards, memberships, free writer services or residencies, merchandise, etc. Prizes should be universal, and small enough to ship economically but large enough to matter to an author. For some prizes, we may ask you to ship directly to the winners, if it is physically large, or requires personal winner details, such as shirt sizes or personalized items. We offer sponsor prizes for up to 12 places for many of our awards, so please feel free to provide more than one item. We will list your items as prizes to give you added exposure and to entice submitters. Prizes should be something that everyone can share in; for example, a gift certificate to a physical store in Kentucky that has no online presence doesn’t do a Florida author any good. We urge you to give physical prizes in addition to monetary prizes, rather than in lieu of, unless the physical prizes are of substantial quality, worth, or importance to a writer.

  • If you donate $1,000 or more, you get the option of being a finalist judge. This means you are agreeing to read the finalist round of submissions and to rank them in your preferred order. There are at least five judges who rank the order, so yours is one of five deciding votes, fairly balanced. A professional reading panel reads all submissions and selects a semifinalist round that Alternating Current editors approve, so that we are sure all finalists will have the aesthetic, talent, and appropriateness to represent our press. You will be selecting from the best of the best. There is no obligation to do this, but if you agree to it, please have the time to commit to it.

  • Please note that we have the right to refuse or to edit any payment, dedication, wording, or logo that is deemed inappropriate or that comes from sources with messages or practices we don’t support.
