  • Summer Pharmacy Institute Application

    The University of Illinois College of Pharmacy at Rockford is inviting current undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in pharmacy to apply for the Summer Pharmacy Institute (SPI). The SPI allows students to explore different areas of the pharmacy profession, including a full day workshop devoted to current trends, research, and activities in each of the following focus areas: Hospital, Ambulatory Care, Industry/Research & Development, Community, and Professionalism in the Field. Applicants must be current undergraduate students, and it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that applicants have taken undergraduate level coursework in biology, chemistry, and/or anatomy & physiology, as well as have a strong interest in the pharmacy career field. The cost to attend this five-day institute is $100, which will be due to UIC following admission to the institute, and includes lunch each day and a t-shirt. Please note that housing WILL NOT BE PROVIDED.

  • A letter of recommendation is required for the application to the Summer Pharmacy Institute. We will reach out to the professor or academic adviser that you list below, and provide instructions for how the letter of recommendation should be completed and submitted.

  • Please submit a personal statement, no more than 500 words, describing your interest in the UIC Summer Pharmacy Institute. Please also share with us your interest in the pharmacy profession, and how you believe the Summer Pharmacy Institute may be of benefit to you in achieving your future career goals.
