    Dog Fostering Application

  • Image-138
  • ARTBAR is located in southwestern WV near the star in our logo.

Depending on which dog you foster, fostering time could be anywhere from a week or two up to several months. Foster dogs must be kept indoors except for exercise and bathroom breaks.

Your own dogs must be spayed (if female) or neutered (if male), 4DX tested negative, and up to date on vaccinations in order for you to foster our dogs. We may be able to help with that if you are low income.

Fostering can be emotionally rough. You will likely become attached to your foster pet. You need to be aware of this before you get your first foster and prepare yourself for the eventuality that the foster will be leaving you at some point in time.

    6. To feed dogs a reasonable amount for their size (following instructions on the dog food bag)
    7. To never give foster dogs rawhide or Greenies as chew toys
    8. If a foster dog needs to be moved out of your home in an urgent situation, the foster family must meet Jessica Hill White or another ARTBAR volunteer (designated by Jessica Hill White) at least halfway to transfer the dog elsewhere.
    9. Once you are advised the foster dog has placement, you agree to work collaboratively with Jessica Hill White or another ARTBAR volunteer to transfer that dog when required.
    10. If you take a foster dog to the vet for us, the vet must be notified that all paperwork must be written up under ARTBAR, Jessica Hill White, PO Box 394, Lenore WV 25676, 304-784-6678
    11. You are not authorized to intake dogs for ARTBAR but you can contact Jessica Hill White for consideration should you come across a dog that needs rehoming.
