• Annual Service Unit Finance Report 2021 - 2022

    A recap of your Service Unit's income and expenses from the reporting period (June 1st to May 31st) that is to be completed in its entirety by June 15th of each year with a copy of the current year May dated bank statement attached. Also, a check register will be required to be maintained throughout the year and attached to the Finance Report.

    TROOPS:

    All troops are required to submit their Annual Troop Finance Report thru the Volunteer Tool Kit (VTK) Finance Tab.  If you are a troop co-leader or treasurer and need help getting started with submitting your Annual Troop Finance Report thru the VTK Finance Tab please check out the GSUSA Volunteer Toolkit - Troop Finance view and VTK Finance Tab User Guide in gsLearn or contact our Member Services Center at 1.800.666.2141 or help@gsdakotahorizons.org.  Please do NOT continue on with this form.  If you continue on with this form, you will be asked to resubmit your Annual Troop Finance Report thru the VTK Finance Tab.

    SERVICE UNITS:

    Since the VTK Finance Tab is only available to troops, you will continue using this form to submit your Annual Service Unit Finance Report.  The form has been updated to mirror the Annual Troop Finance Report that troops are required to submit thru the VTK Finance Tab.

    Checking Account Required

  • After submitting your Annual Service Unit Finance Report, you will recieve an e-mail to the e-mail address listed above that will contain a copy of your Annual Service Unit Finance Report in the body of the e-mail.  Please save your Annual Service Unit Finance Report, check register, bank statements (the full year) and receipts for two years.  They will be needed if your account is ever audited.  An audit of your Service Unit account can be initiated in one of three main ways.

    1. GSDH sees Troop or Service Unit Funds Policy violations or questionable use of troop/Service Unit funds in the annual review of the Annual Finance Report.
    2. GSDH will randomly audit a certain percentage of accounts each year based on the number of active troops/Service Units and the balance in those accounts.
    3. A parent/sponsor/bank brings a financial concern to GSDH's attention regarding questionable use of troop/Service Unit funds or lack of reporting on the use of troop/Service Unit funds.
