  • Welcome to my coaching practice! I’m glad you’ve chosen to work with me as your Coach. I want you to have the best experience possible in this relationship. As such, I have included information about our work together, and ask that you sign and date this from at the bottom to show that you have read this document and understand and agree to abide by the guidelines outlined within it. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or need any clarification.

  • The Nature of the Work:

Health and Wellness Coaching (“Coaching” going forward in document) is a mixture of respectful inquiry, conversation, listening, teaching points, experimentation, exploration and well-chosen action steps. It’s designed to help you reach your goals, to properly evaluate and re-adjust your goals when necessary, and to help you have an empowered relationship with stress, work, relationships, food and body, health and vitality, and overall quality of life.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), often referred to as “tapping,” is a safe and highly-effective energy healing technique that stimulates specific acupressure points on the body to eliminate blockages that are causing or contributing to mental, emotional, or physical pain. By tuning into a problem while tapping specific points, the blockage is corrected, allowing the symptoms to go away, often on the spot.  (We may or may not use this technique, depending on your interest).

  • The Role of the Coach:

The role of the Coach is to assist with the improvement of chronic stress; eating challenges such as weight, overeating, binge eating, body image, chronic dieting, and nutrition related health concerns such as digestion, fatigue, mood, cognition, immunity, and more. Coaching services are not to be construed as, or a replacement for psychotherapy, legal counsel, or medical advice. If either of us recognizes that you have an issue that would benefit from medical or psychotherapeutic intervention, I will do my best to refer you to the appropriate resources.

  • My Background:

I have more than 30 years of clinical experience, having received my Master's of Social Work from Arizona State University in 1990. My scope of social work practice includes: bereavement, hospice, addictions, and geriatrics. I began my coaching work when I received my certification as a Mindful Eating / Mind-Body Eating Coach through the Institute of Eating Psychology in 2015. I received my certification as a Wellness Coach through the International Association of Wellness Professionals (IAWP) in 2017 and my Certified Master Wellness Coach Certification in 2018.  In 2021 I sat for my national board certification (NBC-HWC) and completed my training as a Certified Nutrition Coach in 2022 through NASM.   During my three years of full-time online coaching at Noom (2019-2023), I helped thousands of app-based clients lose 10-100 lbs, while working on goal setting, accountability, and the associated challenges of stress, mindfulness, mindful eating and sleep.  Since May, 2023 I have been working part-time as a telephonic health coach conducting 10-18 sessions/day at Virgin Pulse (an employee wellbeing company).

  • Responsibility:

Ultimately, the coaching relationship is about you, the client, taking full responsibility for your actions, and your life. You enter into coaching with the understanding that you are responsible for creating your own decisions and results. You agree not to hold the coach liable for any outcomes resulting directly or indirectly from the coaching process.

  • Honesty:

I will do my best to be honest and straightforward. If there is anything that is not satisfactory for you about our work together, please let me know immediately so that we can take steps to make corrections. I encourage you to honestly tell me what’s going on for you. If I ever say or do something that upsets you or doesn’t feel right, please bring it up. Honesty and trust are critical for successful work. I want this to be an open and safe place for you to come with confidence.

  • SESSIONS

Sessions can be held over the telephone or video or through messaging (Mon-Friday).

I offer several packages and you can learn more about those here

Messaging between us and content will be delivered through an app (called "Nudge") that does not cost anything additional for you to use.

  • Cancellations and Rescheduling:

I understand that there are times when you will need to cancel and/or reschedule your appointment, and I will do my best to accommodate your needs. Any cancellation or re-scheduling must be done 24 hours prior to our appointment. I request that you honor this policy as diligently as possible.  Please phone or text 303-907-0906 if an appointment needs to be cancelled with less than 24 hrs notice.  I will do the same.

  • Confidentiality:

Confidentiality is important to me. I will keep all information exchanged between us confidential. I will not disclose any information that you share with me to anyone else unless: (1) I believe you are at risk of being a danger to yourself or others, (2) when required by law, or (3) you have given me prior written permission.

  • Preparation:

To ensure the most productive use of our coaching time, please come to each session with some preparation. Take some time to consider the progress you’ve made and how you’d like to use the upcoming session. At least 24 hours prior to each session, please complete the "online check-in form" that I will send to you through the app.  Think about these questions:  What progress have I made since our last session? What challenges did I face? How did I handle them? What new insights have emerged? How would I like to focus this next session?

  • Payment Policy:

Payment may be made by credit card through Stripe, Venmo, check or PayPal. All sessions must be paid for within 24 hours of a phone/video session or before the start of a monthly package.

    *RATES: https://www.coachneshama.com/services--investment.html

    I don't take insurance.

  • REFUNDS

    Packages are not refundable.

  • Insurance:

Coaching is not like the practice of medicine, psychotherapy, or other traditional modalities. For this reason, coaching is not currently covered by health insurance.  In some cases, you may be able to use your HSA account (check with your policy to see).

  • Referrals:

My practice fills, in large part, by referrals. If you are benefiting from our relationship, I’d be very grateful if you suggest my services to appropriate friends, family and colleagues.
