  • If you want a bundle, check out VSCO 2! It contains most of our products in one convenient download, or can even be shipped to you on a flash drive if you use Kontakt.

You can also add multiple items to your cart. Three or more items will grant you a discount of 10%.

  • To add things to the cart, select the correct operating system on the product page next to the price. On Classic Series products, we offer a different build for Mac and Windows users.

For Kontakt instruments, which do work on both Mac and Windows (so long as you have the required version of Kontakt), simply click "Add to Cart" at this point to add the item to your cart.

  • Golly, that's no good! Thanks for telling me. Please click "SUBMIT" at the end right away to let someone know!

  • You can access your cart at any time. It's located in the top right-hand corner of each and every page on our site. Just click on the "cart" text to open it up!

The cart will also open up upon adding an item to it.

The cart will allow you to check-out, by pressing the "checkout" button, or continue shopping (i.e. close the cart). You can view the price of each item, the total (sans discounts, applied during checkout), and remove items from the cart by clicking the "X" at the end of the item's row.

  • Enter your discount code on the checkout screen, in the area shown below.

  • Sometimes there are errors in processing. Here are a few steps to consider taking:

    - Verify you have the required balance in your account or on your card to complete the transaction.

    - Verify that you have entered the correct information (if entering again, take your time to review each digit or character individually).

    - Try a different payment option.

    - If no other payment options are available, try calling your bank to notify them you will be making an online payment to Versilian Studios LLC via Paypal or Stripe.

We also offer the ability to send us a manual payment, either through an official paypal invoice, or a check or cash in the mail.

  • Click "submit" to send in your order for a manual purchase. We'll be sending you an invoice in 12-48 hours via e-mail with all the details. Once we receive your payment, we will release the products to you.

  • That's okay. We do need a valid e-mail address, though! Or else you won't get backup download links for your purchases (trust me, you'll want them).

Your information is important to us. That's why we don't stick our noses in it (figuratively speaking). If you want to learn more, read our Privacy Policy.

  • The installer is available on select products after December 2014 for Windows users. They're designed to make your life easier and installations more successful by copying the correct files automatically. Our installers are simple, have no ads, and install nothing other than our products on your computer.

However, it isn't as smart as people, so it doesn't know where to correctly install them unless you tell it. This is because VSTi files get installed in one of over a dozen locations depending on the software used! You can find the location to install your VSTi by going into your DAW's preferences and looking for a tab about either plugins or directories.

  • Uninstallation is straightforward:

    - For VSTi plugins, delete the .dll and .instruments folder where you originally installed them.

    - For Audio Unit plugins, delete the .component file you put in your Library.

    - For Kontakt instruments, delete the folder with the instrument name that includes the instrument and samples for that particular product.

We don't install any other special stuff on your computer aside from the manual and folder structure.

  •

The first step is to download the installer from the link provided after purchase. If your browser says the file is not safe to download or is rarely downloaded, find a way to work around it, such as depicted in the screenshot below. We can guarantee our products have no malware and are completely safe.

Now run the installer.  First a window will pop up noting that a publisher could not be verified and asking if you want to run the software. Click "Run". You will then be greeted with the opening window, shown below, in this case, for the Tubular Bells.

Next, proceed through the license agreement (only read if you have a sense of humor) and click accept to proceed.

Now, you will need to identify where you want to install the files to. By default, the Kontakt files are installed (if later selected as an install element) to your Program Files under a folder called Versilian Studios. You may have a common place you wish to keep all of your Kontakt files. After that, you will need to select where to install the 32-bit and 64-bit VSTi versions independently. The default locations are common places where many DAWs look, but you should change it to a specific location your DAW looks (found under your DAW's preferences) or to any other number of "standard" places. The image below shows the 32-bit VSTi installation path selection window. You  can also choose where the Documentation is installed.

Next up, select which components you want to install. We recommend all components in case you may need or want to use one of them in the future. Following that is a final confirmation window, and then the installation process begins. A progress bar will show the progress on the install. Lastly, a final window will appear asking if you would like to view the documentation (you will need Adobe Reader on your computer in order to view the documentation). This is recommended if you are new to using our products.

Volia! You have finished the installation process. Start up your DAW and your new products should appear. Please visit the support page if you have any issues.

  • With or without an installer, it's always possible to manually move the files to another place on your computer.

For example, to move the 32-bit VSTi on Windows, browse to the top hierarchy in that folder (the one that contains "..._Win_32B.dll" and "..._Win_32B.instruments"). Cut and paste the two files listed previously into the new desired location. Be sure you do not alter the path between these files (i.e. the both must be copied into the same place, together).

For Kontakt builds, make sure you include the .nkc and .nkr files, as well as all relevant folders. If something is missing, Kontakt will let you know upon trying to run. Kontakt builds may be placed anywhere on either system (Mac/Windows).

For Mac users, copy and paste the .component file into Mac HD > Library > Audio > Plug-Ins > Components. Please give your DAW a few minutes to register the change, or restart the DAW (close and re-open).

  • Your previous purchases can be found in an e-mail sent to the e-mail address you entered on the checkout form, where it says "Download URL". Be sure to check your spam folder if you cannot find the e-mail AND your purchase is from within the last 15 days.

  • Okay, click Submit and we'll contact you within 24 hours with the correct download link.

  • A .rar file is a special type of compressed file that is more efficient than .zip files and is thus commonly used in sending large amounts of data across the internet. Consider the following allegory-

Imagine you are a company and you make clothing. Let's say you made a shipment of 100 shirts and you want to ship them across the world. Your first option might be to ship each of the shirts one by one in little boxes. This is the equivalent of sending normal files across the internet- each file must be downloaded independently, one by one.

Option two is to take all the shirts, fold them up, and put them in a big box fairly tightly packed. This is the equivalent of how .zip files work; all the files are put together in a single, compressed file. This way, it is possible to send a single file that contains many files within it, while at the same time, saving space thanks to compression, and anyone can un-zip the file using the built in utilities on their computer.

Your last and fanciest option is to vacuum-pack the shirts and put them in a single, even smaller box. The only problem is, the guy on the other end is going to need the right tools to un-pack the shirts without damaging them. This is like a .rar file- it achieves far superior compression than .zip files, and also creates a single file that can hold many files. Smaller package = less postage cost = happier customer and happier seller.

Now, like our shirts allegory, there are some important things to note about the behavior of both .zip and .rar files:
    1. .zip and .rar files are made by selecting a number of files and telling the computer to compress them into an individual file. This is like how you must pack the shirts into the box, you cannot instantaneously poof a box full of shirts. Note that this operation happens by copying the files, not moving them.
    2. In a retrograde sense, the opposite is true- the files within the .zip or .rar files cannot be used or opened until they are extracted from the .zip file, just as you cannot wear a shirt while it is still in the box, you must open up the box and take out the shirts so you can find which one you want to wear. Note that this operation, referred to as "extraction", or colloquially as "unzipping" or "un-raring" is accessible by right-clicking on the file in question (a .zip or .rar) and selecting that option. Click okay to the resulting dialog window and the files will extract to a folder that has the same name as the .zip folder. You will require a program such as WinRAR or 7-Zip to gain this functionality for .rar files.
    3. Programs like WinRAR (for .rar) and Explorer (for .zip) allow you to look/browse inside .zip and .rar files, but this action is NOT the same as extraction! It's like shuffling through the shirts without removing them from the box. Remember: always extract/unzip the files before attempting to use them.

You can think of installers as self-unpacking boxes, but make sure you tell them WHERE to un-pack!

  • Nope, you don't need to activate the Kontakt version. Only the VSTi and AU versions require activation.

  • Yes, you can use your activation code on up to three machines. After that, please contact us regarding additional licenses.

  • Look in your e-mail inbox around the time you made your transaction (or, if there is a search bar for your e-mail service, type in "Versilian"). You should have received an invoice that contains download links and activation codes for each product, under the Cart Information section. Be sure you check the invoice you used to make the transaction. If this is no longer available, fill in the information below and click submit to request your invoice to be resent to a new address.

  • Change your Address & Resend Invoice Form

  • If you are unsure about the below information, check your Paypal account or bank/Stripe statements. While not necessary, this information is helpful. Make sure you entered your name and current e-mail above too. With this information, we can track down your order in our system and resend the info correctly.

  • Also, did you check the product manual? Look for a .pdf in the main installation directory or the extracted folder. The manual should explain most if not all product operation. Be sure to also check out the specific product page (you can find it in the product directory). (link will open in a new tab)

The product page often includes video walk-throughs and helpful tips.

Many times issues (e.g. MIDI channel routing) are actually DAW familiarity issues. For example, a simple google search of "using multitimbral instruments in [DAW]" will show you how to access different MIDI channels. Similarly, things like mapping CC's to knobs in Kontakt are covered in the Kontakt manual.

Here are some good troubleshooting steps for operation:

    - RTFM, "Read the full manual" - we didn't write the thing to add bulk to our library. The manual contains all basic operation instructions, installation procedure, and even troubleshooting advice. Also consider checking out your DAW's manual if your question starts with "how do I..." and isn't answered in the product manual.

    - Review the FAQ - contrary to popular belief, the FAQ really does consist of questions we get asked a lot {hence why we made it}. Your question may be answered there.

    - Search Google - sometimes people have already explained things in other places. A basic search can't hurt!

    - Try Experimenting - see what happens when you turn that knob or change that parameter. Maybe you'll discover the lost chord or something in the process.
