This form constitutes the entire agreement between College Houses and the hosteller. College Houses provides hostelling accommodations to transient persons from June 1-August 12 on a first come, as-available basis. This agreement does not imply membership in College Houses, nor does it imply an offer of membership.
Hosteller agrees to abide by all Federal, State, and local laws, as well as rules set by College Houses:
- Each hosteller will have a criminal background check performed by College Houses staff before they stay in our houses.
- Hostellers must pay for their entire stay up front (no cash).
- Hostellers may not have overnight guests or pets.
- Hostellers must be at least 18 years of age.
- Hostellers under the age of 21 may not consume alcohol. Hostellers who violate this rule will be asked to leave without refund and will not be welcome at College Houses in the future.
- Neither College Houses nor its agents or employees will be liable for loss or damage of a hosteller's property, or for any harm that the hosteller causes to themself, to a third party, or to someone's property. The hosteller assumes all risks of loss or damage for any reason.
- Hostellers may not work in the house in lieu of payment. Due to insurance liability, only members can perform labor.
- Hostellers who stay in a co-op where dinner is being served are welcome to eat dinner with the co-op at no extra charge. Hostellers may not eat any co-op food other than what has been prepared for dinner.
- Hostellers are welcome to store their own food in the co-op refrigerator. All personal items should be clearly marked with their name and room number.
- Hostellers are welcome to use the kitchen to prepare food, unless members are preparing for or cleaning up after a meal.
- All hostellers are expected to completely clean up after themselves when using co-op facilities.
- Please respect members' privacy, as this is their home. Loud and obnoxious behavior will not be tolerated.
- Hostellers who check out later than 1:00 pm will be charged for an extra night, unless prior arrangements have been made with the Hostelling Coordinator.
- Any damages to the room or missing room items, including keys, will be charged to the hosteller through invoice by mail. Hostellers who fail to return keys will be billed for the cost of rekeying the room and/or exterior doors.
In addition, hosteller agrees to abide by any house rules presented by a house representative upon arrival.
