Dogs/puppies are fun, loving, playful, expensive and a LOT of work.  Please be sure that you can make a commitment to the care of the dog/puppy before you decide to adopt.

  • Cyprus Dog Rescue insists on the spaying or neutering of all adopted dogs/puppies within three months of ownership, with a receipt forwarded to us from your vet to confirm that this has been carried out.

  • If you can no longer keep your pet, Cyprus Dog Rescue MUST be informed at all times of a change in circumstances and the dog must be returned to one of our chosen volunteers.

  • Thank you for your interest in one of our rescue dogs and for the submission of your Application.  PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT COMPLETING THIS QUESTIONNAIRE IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF ADOPTION.  Also, please understand that Adoption questionnaires are reviewed with the sole intent of making the best long-term companion match possible.

I certify that I am at least 18 years of age and the information I have given is true.  I recognize that any misrepresentation of facts may result in my losing the privilege of adopting a companion animal and I understand that Cyprus Dog Rescue has the right to deny my application.

I am fully aware that I am adopting a living, sentient animal and as such, that Cyprus Dog Rescue, whilst taking every precaution within their means,  is unable to guarantee the health of any animal.

If an adopted animal becomes ill, I hereby certify that I am financially and/or emotionally prepared to treat this animal in my care and at my own expense.

  • Please review the Adoption Notes below, after which you may sign the Adoption form and then press the Submit button which will automatically send your questionnaire to Andrea Siddons at Cyprus Dog Rescue.

Please be aware that by signing this adoption application you are signing a legally binding contract and agreeing to the terms below

Cyprus Dog Rescue will endeavor to carry out a home check with one of our volunteers within 2 weeks of submission of an adoption form.

Cyprus Dog Rescue MUST be informed at all times of a change in circumstances and the dog be returned to one of our chosen volunteers.

Cyprus Dog Rescue CANNOT guarantee the precise age of a dog nor also the breed (or breeds) of a dog, but will endeavour to ascertain such by veterinary advice in Cyprus.

Cyprus Dog Rescue will continue to be in touch wth you and will also carry out a further home visit approximately 3 months after the dog is placed.

Cyprus Dog Rescue reserves the right the to take the dog back into their care if they are not happy with the care you are giving the dog once you have it - the 1st 3 months are a trial period and the dog can be taken back and your adoption fee returned.  We ask for regular updates on the dog and that you listen to advice given by CDR or a professional behaviourist which we will provide.  If you lose the dog you must notify us IMMEDIATELY so we can help to get the dog homes safely.  We will then review the circumstances of how the dog was lost together and help put measures in place so this doesn't happen again - if these measures aren't followed we will take the dog back into our care.  The health & safety of our dogs is of paramount importance to us

If you give any false information or blatantly lie about any circumstances we will remove the dog if it is affecting it's wellbeing

Cyprus Dog Rescue reserves the absolute right to refuse any application they deem unsuitable.

Cyprus Dog Rescue asks that the dog be seen by a vet within 5 days of being homed.  The microchip data should then be transferred onto the UK or appropriate microchip database and confirmation sent to:

    andreasiddons@gmail.com

We want your dog to settle in quickly but some dogs do take longer than others, so please do be patient.  We do not want dogs returned within a few days of their adoption/foster. You will not see their true characters emerging for possibly up to a month or even longer as they take time to settle in.  Be patient with them.  If your dog is not very confident, please do not ask too much of him/her.  Let them quietly adjust to you and what is to them, their very strange and somewhat frightening surroundings.  If you are gentle and understanding in your approach to them during these initial stages, then they will develop confidence and become loving and happy companions for life.

NB   Please be aware that everyone in the military must have written permission from their HCSO if they are in a SFA quarter before adopting a dog.  Thank you.
