  • THE PATRONS TOUR OVERVIEW

  •

Your patronage supports the restoration and conservation of an incredible selection of works contained in one of the oldest museums in the world.

PAVM allows you to access the Vatican Museums before normal opening hours. The first stop is the Sistine Chapel where one can marvel at Michelangelo's iconic masterpiece. The tour will then proceed through the Raphael Rooms, through the exquisite Borgia Apartments, and down the magnificent Gallery of Maps before continuing on to see and experience the other innumerable treasures contained within the Vatican Museums.

Moreover, unlike any other, the PAVM tour allows you special access to our restoration laboratories, where restorers themselves will share with you first hand, the amazing work they are undertaking, and many of these projects are sponsored by our Patrons. By speaking with the Vatican restorers, you will learn about the fascinating restoration techniques and technologies they employ that bring beautiful masterpieces back to life. Based on the day of the week, you can visit one of the following laboratories.

Based on the day of the week, Patrons will visit one of the following laboratories:

  • *Please note that visitation to the restoration laboratories is available weekdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Due to limited space in the laboratories, the groups must not exceed more than ten individuals.

Your two and a half hour tour will end with an optional visit to the Patrons' Office (upon request). Please inform your guide on the day of your tour if you would like to come to visit us! Either way, you are free to visit any other galleries you may wish, unaccompanied.

  • If you have already explored the restoration laboratories or would prefer to experience a different option, you may select from one of two options:
