Please submit this application to begin the process of transferring your membership to the Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area.
This form is for previously ordained Teaching Elders in the PCUSA (or ministers from other denominations who are applying for permanent or temporary membership). Your answers to the seven membership questions will be shared with the entire presbytery and posted online within the presbytery meeting packet.
The Committee on Ministry examines each teaching elder applying for membership in the presbytery::
a.To comply with the Book of Order, which states "Teaching elders have membership in the presbytery by action of the presbytery itself, and no pastoral relationship may be established, changed, or dissolved without the approval of the presbytery". (G-2.0502)
b. To become acquainted with the applicant in order to evaluate his or her current theology and practice of ministry.
The examination is normally in the form of a personal interview with two or three members of the COM or with the sub-committee on Membership. This application must be filled out before an interview can be scheduled.
Once you submit your application, a member of the Committee on Ministry will be in contact with you to schedule a membership interview. The COM meets on the 3rd Monday of the month. To be considered for next month's agenda, please submit your application 10 days before the meeting. Before your transfer is complete, you must pass the presbytery's standard background check.
