All volunteers for the Watershed Explorer's Program are required to agree to the waiver below.
SAN DIEGUITO RIVER VALLEY CONSERVANCY
ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE, HOLD HARMLESS, INDEMNITY & PHOTOS USE PERMISSION
In exchange for permitting me to participate as a volunteer in the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy’s Watershed Explorer’s Program for the period of January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017:
RISKS: I am willingly participating in this activity. I acknowledge that all outdoor adventure activities entail known and unknown risks which could result in physical and emotional injury, paralysis, death or damage to me, to property or to third parties. These risks include without limitation: property damage or loss, heat exhaustion/stroke, bruises, broken bones, contact with harmful plants, animals or insects and slipping or falling. I know that this activity may expose me to accidents in remote areas without easy access to advanced medical facilities and involve the hazards of carpooling to various locales, traveling in wilderness areas in rough terrain and difficult weather, road and trail conditions. I voluntarily assume any risks and hazards associated with this activity. Further, I assume responsibility for any medical care that I seek or require.
COOPERATION: For my safety and the safety of others, I will follow the instructions of the activity leaders. My participation is at the discretion of the leaders and I may be asked to end my participation in this activity at any time.
FITNESS: I am physically fit for this activity and have not been advised otherwise by a doctor. I am confident that I am able to undertake this activity. If my physical condition changes so that it is no longer safe for me to continue, I will cease participation.
RELEASE/ HOLD HARMLESS/ INDEMNITY: For myself, heirs, legal representatives and successors, I release, hold harmless and indemnify the leaders and naturalists, the persons and committee members who planned this activity, the Conservancy, the San Dieguito River Park and the officers, directors, agents and employees of the Conservancy and Park, from any and all claims for injury, damage, loss or expenses resulting from my participation in this activity. This release also applies to any claim arising directly or indirectly from the active or passive negligence of any released party.
PHOTOS: I agree to allow the Conservancy the absolute right and permission to publish, copyright and use any likeness in photographs, videos or digital images taken during this activity, composite or retouched in character or form.
