Your healing is one of the most important things in your life right now. I will treat it as such and I ask that you do the same by: being on time for appointments and calls, not canceling, rescheduling or missing an appointment/call for any reason except a legitimate emergency. If you accidentally make another appointment for the same time, reschedule the other one and show up to your appointment with me for your own sake. If you make something else more important than your healing, your healing won't happen.
I am happy to accept the following forms of payment: Cash, credit and debit cards, PayPal, money orders, gold and silver bullion (at current market prices).
I reserve the right to terminate our relationship at any time if I feel that you are not doing your part in the healing process.
There are certain psychological disorders that I do not work with. If you have one of them, I will be happy to help you find an herbalist who does work with them.
I DO give homework. For the sake of your healing, please complete it on schedule.
I have learned that whatever a person's highest priority is, they will find a way to make it happen. If you're thinking right now, "I can't afford it" that means that healing is not your highest priority. I have been told by several people that they didn't have a penny to their name - that they were struggling just to pay their bills - that their house was literally falling apart and the only way they could afford a healing program was to trade me something or convince me to give them a discount. Then a short time later I found out that they had spent 7-20x my fee on something they didn't really need. They probably believed they were telling me the truth, it was just that healing was not their priority and they weren't prepared to take it seriously. If you need to sell something, cancel subscriptions or memberships, postpone other plans or appointments, take a part-time job, borrow money from friends or relatives, set up a crowd-funding campaign, etc. in order to pay for your healing program, it will reinforce in your mind that healing is your TOP priority and that commitment will help you to succeed in healing yourself.
NO Excuses:
Travel – If I can eat healthy while traveling, so can you. (I'm happy to give you some pointers if you're planning a trip.)
Doctor – If your medical doctor isn't willing to work alongside other types of practitioners, you need to find another doctor. Nuff said.
Insufficient finances – I addressed this in the preceding paragraph. If your health is important enough to you, you will find a (legal and ethical) way to get the necessary money. After all, you're finding enough money to spend on other things, aren't you?
Surgery – First, I need to know about this in advance and I will give you a modified program to follow until after the surgery. Second, most of the things I will have you doing will only speed your recovery and help the surgery to be more successful. Third, if the hospital only serves you garbage food, ask a friend or family member to prepare and bring you some healthy food at each meal. Cite special dietary needs if the hospital staff objects.
Busy – What is it that you're giving a higher priority than your health? Just say "NO" or "Later" to whatever is getting in the way.
Difficult family member – Do what you need to do in spite of them. It is NOT your responsibility to manage their emotions for them or to be subject to their will. It IS your responsibility to do what you need to do to get well and you are the one who will continue to suffer from ill-health if you don't.
Afraid of interactions with other supplements, nutrients, drugs, etc. – That's why I'm here. That's why you're paying me your hard-earned money. I need to know everything you're taking so I can make sure what I'm giving you is safe. I will research the herbs you're taking to make sure that there are no known interactions with your prescriptions. If necessary, I can consult with you doctor about this (with your permission).
Ran into a problem or not sure what to do - If you run into something unexpected, have a problem with an herb or supplement, or aren't sure what to do about something, don't put it off, don't wait until your next appointment, call or text me right away so I can help you and you won't get off track!
Afraid herbs might show up on a blood test – Yes, I have actually heard this one. Why are you afraid? Blood tests won't reveal anything that isn't specifically being looked for; and besides, didn't I already say that you should be seeing ONLY practitioners that you can be honest with because they're open-minded and willing to work with other types of practitioners? Also, ALL the practitioners you're seeing need to know about ALL the things you're taking so they can help you stay safe. If your doctor isn't the kind who you can be honest with, FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR! (May I suggest a naturopath, holistic internist, integrative MD, etc.?)
Aliens abducted me and took me to a planet where the only food was triple bacon cheeseburgers – Sounds like an excellent opportunity for a cleansing fast.
You get the idea. If I had let excuses stop me from doing what I needed to do to get well, I'd still be horribly sick, and the same goes for you. What future do you choose for yourself? The red pill or the blue pill? The high road or the low road? The lady or the tiger? Health or sickness? It's up to you.
That said, none of us are perfect and you should expect to fall off the wagon once or twice (briefly) - it's just part of being human. The important thing is that you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back on the program right away. I promise I won't yell at you for one or two tiny mistakes if you're otherwise doing your best. (I actually don't "yell" at clients at all, but if you're really slacking off, we might need to have a little "heart-to-heart" to get you back on track.)
I have read, understand, and agree to Chris Lewis' client agreement, orientation, terms and conditions, and policies:
