DESCRIPTION: FIVE local bands will compete for $500 and be the Main Stage act on Friday July 14,2017. Contestants will be judged on technical performance, originality of songs, professionalism, stage presence, vocals and audience reaction.

ENTRY: Each band must submit a $50 entry fee and completed application accompanied by a PROCEDURE: CD demo or web link to your music, stage plot, set list with lyrics (musthave one cover song) that you plan on performing for the contest, and of a photo of your band.The application deadline is Monday, July 10, 2017. Applications and supplemental materials should be submitted ONLINE but Cd's if need be can be submitte to P.O. Box 546 Weston, WV 26452 The Lewis County Fair Association neither retain nor return the materials submitted.
2017 Battle of the Bands
RULES: – The contest will be limited to FIVE(5) bands maximum.
– Each band will be allowed a maximum of 20 minutes for its

– All lyrics, subject matter, overall performance, actions, and dress must
be family friendly in nature. No inappropriate language or subject matter
is allowed. Bands that fail to abide by these rules will be removed from
the stage and disqualified.
DAY OF EVENT: List of the bands’ order will be distributed on or before the event. All band members must arrive for set-up no later than 4:00pm on
Thursday July 13, 2017. Failure to do so will result in up to a 10-point deduction from your band’s final score (one point for each minutelate). NO REFUNDS WILL BE PREMITTED IF YOU DO NOT ATTEND!
STAGE The 2017 Battle of the Bands will be held at the Grand Stage inside the Red Barn
INFORMATION: The same professional sound company that will be working with all the artists on the Grand Stage during the Fair will be providing microphones and sound mixing during your performance. A stage manager will be on hand to keep the show running smoothly.
Bands are responsible for any Battle of the Bands equipment damaged or lost during their set-up, set or tear-down.
MERCHANDISE: Bands may sell band merchandise (CDs, T-shirts, and posters) in an area that will be set up 15 minutes prior to show time and will close 15
minutes after show time. The merchandise booth will be shared with all
bands that choose to take advantage of this opportunity. Only band
merchandise can be sold at the booth.
JUDGING Contestants will be judged on a 60 point system:
