Professional Development Requests (AY24-25)
Faculty and staff members of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts are invited to request funding for professional development for the period of July 1, 2024 - June 15, 2025.
The Department of Fine and Performing Arts has a limited pool of resources assigned to support professional development activities for the 24-25 Academic Year. These funds can be used to provide funding to support expenses including, but not limited to, conferences, technological equipment, workshops and seminars, including travel expenses and registration fees. In each case, the request should contribute to the improvement of the faculty member's teaching, support research and/or scholarly activities or is required training for one's role in the department.
Please note that awards for professional development do not roll over from year to year, the funding awarded is associated with a specific request. Typically single awards will not exceed $1500 (per request) or more than $3000 (total) in one academic year. Note that if funding continues to be available after March 1st, faculty who had expenses that exceeded their awards may be invited to apply for additional support.
- NTT faculty (full and part-time) should first apply for the Professional Development Fund established for unionized faculty members prior to seeking DFPA funding.
- Use this form to upload a copy of the Unionized Faculty Professional Development Application for Chair review.
- If expenses exceed $600, the limit for those requests, DFPA may award funding for the excess amount.
- A copy of the CBA form can be found on the DFPA's resources website.
This form can also be used to request funds in support of recruitment activities and activities associated with academic program review and accrediation. Awards for these activities do not count toward the total professional development limits.
