RULES AND JUDGING
1. Check in begins at 9:45 a.m.
2. Judging will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. for all divisions. Please check in at the Sports and Civic Center, located at 6th Street and the Boardwalk by 10:00 a.m. Division A and B will form inside the Civic Center and Division C will form outside the Civic Center. Division D (floats) will form on the Boardwalk at 5th Street. Judging will also take place as each entry passes the main reviewing stand.
3. Adults accompanying entry must be properly attired and may be costumed.
4. The distribution or throwing of articles such as candy, etc. is strictly prohibited.
5. Each entrant must be characteristically named with a title or theme. (Example: Miss Rosebud)
6. All division registrations are final – Divisions cannot be changed after registering.
7. The committee reserves the right to reject or reassign any entry.
8. NO PETS PERMITTED.
9. Numbers for online entries or people who did not receive a number with their registration will be available for pickup at the Civic Center starting at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, August 8.
10. New this year, the baby/kids entries will stop at Moorlyn Terrace Street with an option to go inside the Music Pier for family-friendly entertainment while they wait for awards to begin. This year, none of the baby/kids entries will go past the Music Pier as we have found that traveling to 12th Street was not ideal for the young participants due to summer weather conditions. We hope that a shorter parade route will help generate more participation!
11. Awards will be announced at 11:45 a.m. inside the Music Pier and over the boardwalk PA system. The awards will be available in the Information Center of the Ocean City Music Pier between 8th and 9th Streets after 12 p.m. on parade day.
NOTE: In the event of heavy rain, entries in Division A, B & C should still report to the Civic Center where judging will still take place. The parade will not proceed down the Boardwalk. Keep in mind, your entry must fit into the Civic Center to be judged!
