Step 1: Proposal/Approval
A comprehensive proposal and presentation shall be presented to members of the community and city officials in the Spartanburg area. This will be done in the form of one-on-one meetings, surveys, and open communication with the City and County of Spartanburg SC and its residents. All mural sites will be FULLY approved (written consent from public/private property owner) before further action is taken.

Community contractors, small business owners, Companies, organizations and Private donations will be utilized for supplies and materials, in an effort to reduce the amount of actual funding needed. Lead artists for each site will be offered a static pay for the time, artistic talent and labor put into the mural they are responsible for. Grants, fellowships, and any art funding available will be applied for
Step 3: The Community
Upon approval of the SMP, the community will be consulted on a number of topics. Public meetings will be held in April & May to allow anyone interested to participate and learn more about the project. Investors are able to attend these meetings as well as volunteers. Assessment of community’s needs/wants/ would like to be seen in the city.
Step 4: Gather the Art teams
Each lead artist will be responsible for their own ‘team’, to help complete the mural they are working on. Artists may call upon whoever they may like, but an assigned list of community volunteers will also be evenly distributed between each lead artist/mural site. Those who sign up either at the meeting or through email/phone communication will be assigned and contacted by their lead artist with further instructions on how they will proceed. Art groups are required to meet at LEAST once bi-monthly outside of the mural site to encourage community discussion/networking. Each group will consist of different members of the community. There are no age requirements. No minimum or maximum hours required to participate. For safety and liability reasons, NO VOLUNTEERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN ARTWORK DONE AT NIGHT or during heavy traffic times (ie projecting, between 4-6pm).
Step 5: ART!
