Diversity is vital to speculative fiction. A genre centered on exploration and encountering the Other must include voices and visions from writers, readers and thinkers of all kinds. For this reason, the ArmadilloCon Writers’ Workshop is offering a limited number of sponsored seats for the workshop to people of color.
The sponsorship includes the cost of the workshop, taking place on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and a badge to the ArmadilloCon Convention, which takes place from Friday, August 4 – Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the Omni Southpark Hotel. The sponsorship does NOT include the cost of travel, hotel, or any other expenses associated with the ArmadilloCon Convention.
If you are offered a seat, you must submit a piece of writing and register for the workshop by the general deadline of June 11th. If you do not submit work (a short story or chapter) for critique, you may not participate in the workshop and your sponsored seat will go to the next applicant.
