Watercolor Pet Portraits by Andrea Brooks

All of my watercolor portraits are painted on high-quality cold press watercolor paper using Holbein watercolor and, occasionally, some pencil accents. My paintings are drawn directly from your favorite photo, and it is of the highest importance to me to capture the likeness and character of your pet in my paintings. Please have a photo picked for me to paint from - you may include as many as you like to help me work, but I ask that you please designate which one you want your painting drawn from.

I will email you and ask any questions I have about your pet or the photo provided. After I feel like I have enough information to begin I will send you an invoice via your provided email address for the full amount of your painting.

Once I have completed your painting I will email you a photo of the finished painting. If you are pleased with the portrait, I will ship your painting to you!

All orders taken after August 1, 2018 are guaranteed by December 10, 2018. All art packages are sent with tracking, in reinforced packaging to protect your art. Worldwide shipping is included in the price of your painting. All pricing is offered in USD.

Pricing listed is for a single pet illustration. For multiple pets please email me at andrea@brainmurk.com. My pricing is usually 1.5x for two pets and scaling up from there, but that is just a rogue estimate and to give a concrete price I will need to see what you're requesting. :)

Please note that the best photos for me to work from are ones with good, clear lighting and an unobstructed view of your pet's face. Photos that are blurry, very dark, or washed out from too much light are difficult to use due to the lack of detail.

I very commonly will "crop" the image I am painting down to be a facial / upper body view of your pet. Please include in the provided note section if you would like me to use a wider view, or if there are specific defining features of your pet's body that you want me to include. Please also include any specific requests, such as a particular collar or toy, that you would like included.

Please note that every painting is different, and often these creations take on a life of their own. As you can see from the examples provided I do not have one specific "style", and often my pet portraits are expressive and tend to not be "photorealistic". I will try very hard to make sure that your pet is represented as accurately as possible, but please be aware that I am an artist interpreting photographs, and as such I am trying my best to include the features that I feel best represent your baby. To that end, if you are not pleased with your portrait PLEASE let me know and I will happily work with you until you are happy. :)

Each painting is created on hand-cut to size paper, and the sizes offered are standardized so that you can easily find any sort of frame you like to place them in. I reccommend matting your painting, especially if you live in a humid region where the air is moist.
