    Code of Conduct

    For Hearts of Ohio 2026
  • CODE OF CONDUCT - Due Friday, May 1, 2026

To ensure a safe, fun experience during Miss Ohio Week, we have established standards of conduct for all Hearts of Ohio. We will not tolerate violations, and anyone who disregards our standards will be removed.  Participation in Hearts of Ohio constitutes agreement to these standards.

    • During rehearsals and shows, all Hearts of Ohio must remain in the designated area. At no time may any Hearts of Ohio leave the area without permission and supervision.

    • The property, equipment, furniture, and belongings should be used correctly and carefully.

    • It is our responsibility as a team to keep our space clean.

    • At no time are any Hearts of Ohio to leave the space, unless express permission is granted by one of the directors or production team leaders. The exception, of course, will be any time when rehearsals must be moved. Hearts of Ohio must follow the express guidance on where they may/may not go.

    • Be ready to begin rehearsal at the scheduled time and be picked up promptly. If Hearts of Ohio will be late for a rehearsal, inform our Hearts of Ohio Director as soon as possible.

    • Personal behavior must exemplify respect for those in authority, one another, and the property. Appropriate behavior is described as “Respectful” & “Responsible.” Respect your director(s) and those in authority, either adults or peers. Respect each Hearts of Ohio. Be responsible by being on time and learning your choreography. Please pay attention to the directions given & take them seriously.

    • Rehearsals are closed. This means they are for Hearts of Ohio only. Please do not invite your friends to rehearsals. Exceptions may be granted in advance only at the Director's discretion.

    • Dress Code: Please wear appropriate clothing to rehearsal: flexible pants or shorts, snug-fitting shoes, shorts under dresses, and non-restrictive tops.

With your assistance, we will make this production a memorable event for all of us and our audience. Your cooperation in adhering to these standards is most gratefully appreciated.

Our staff will provide clear behavior expectations and model positive behavior at all times. Hearts of Ohio participants will be rewarded for demonstrating the respectful and positive behavior required to produce a successful show. Our number one goal is that everyone has a positive and fun experience!!! However, should behavior problems arise with Hearts of Ohio participants, the following disciplinary plan will be followed (in general):

    • A polite verbal request

    • A break from the action

    • A phone call to the parent

    • Dismissal from further participation. No refund will be provided to participants who are dismissed from the program.
  • PARENT/GUARDIAN ROLE

Parents have the most important role in Miss Ohio Week. When we tell our production’s parents, “We couldn’t have done it without you!” we mean it. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all of the family members who have supported us in the past.  We truly appreciate the time you are taking for your daughter.

It is our goal at Miss Ohio to deliver a high-production-value performance while providing every participant with a fun and safe learning experience. To that end, we rely heavily on your support as the parent of a Hearts of Ohio. A child’s commitment to our Hearts of Ohio program is a family’s commitment. We have developed the following list of expectations for parents to guide you as you consider committing your time and your child’s time.

We respectfully expect the parents of Hearts of Ohio to:

    • Contact us if you have any questions or concerns!!!

    • Encourage your Daughter by helping them learn their choreography.

    • Bring your Daughter to events on time and pick them up promptly.

    • Let us know if you can help! The families and friends of former and current Hearts of Ohio do a lot of work. (We operate under the “many hands make light work” theory!) Please thoughtfully consider the opportunities where you may be of help.

    • If your Daughter is sick or running a fever, please help us by keeping your Daughter out until they are healthy again. Colds and flu bugs can run through Miss Ohio week like fire!

    • Please respect the rehearsal times. Director/Parent conversation time is any time after rehearsal.

    • During the course of Miss Ohio Week, there may be several instances in which the members are photographed or video-recorded. We need your permission to use these photographs or videos for publicity and/or historical purposes. By signing the Registration Form, you give the Miss Ohio Scholarship Program and Hearts of Ohio Program permission to use your photos throughout the production.
  • I have read and understand the information above.

I also understand that I will arrange to pick up my Hearts of Ohio promptly at the end of each session.

  • Should be Empty:
