Pool Rules:
1. All swimmers must follow the directions of the lifeguards at all times.
Being disrespectful to a lifeguard will result in disciplinary action.
2. No smoking or alcohol permitted on pool property (including the
parking lot).
3. Diving is permitted only in areas that are 5 feet or deeper (follow
signs painted on the pool deck).
4. Only lifeguards are allowed in the blue boxes around the lifeguard
stands. Only speak to lifeguards during adult swim.
5. Everyone must leave the pool deck when thunder is heard. The
lifeguard will inform everyone when this happens. No one should be in
or near the pool for 30 minutes after thunder is heard or seen.
6. Everyone under the age of 16 must leave the pool (including the
steps) during “adult swim,” which is 15 minutes on every hour.
7. An adult must supervise any swimmer who is in the baby pool at all
times. The baby pool is for infants-8 years old only. All infants must
wear swim diapers.
8. Food and drink must be kept 10 feet from the pool at all times. Only
plastic & metal containers are allowed on the pool deck (no glass).
9. Clean up after yourself & your guests. Trash cans and recycle bins
are located around the pool deck.
10. Stay off of the railings on the steps and the ladders. Hanging on
them breaks them.
11. No horseplay allowed in the pool or on the pool deck. Wrestling,
dunking, throwing people into the pool & “chicken fighting” are not
allowed.
12. Children ages infant-9 years must be accompanied by an adult (over
18 years). Adults are responsible for children when they accompany
them to the pool. Children 10-17 may come to the pool
unaccompanied after passing a swim test administered by the
pool manager. Parents must contact the pool manager at
manager@greenacrespool.org to schedule a swim test.
13. Guests must be accompanied by a member over the age of 14, and must
pay $2 per day per person. Members are responsible for guests and
must accompany them for the entire stay.
14. Members < 18 years old may bring up to 2 guests per visit.
15. Members > 18 years old may bring up to 5 guests per visit, or one family,
whichever is greater. More than 5 guests or a family must be
pre-approved by the Pool Manager. Pool Manager and lifeguards have the
right to refuse large groups of guests for safety reasons. Scheduled
parties are available for large groups.
16. Pool staff must grant permission for use of the office landline. Do not
enter the pool office without permission. The pool phone number is
706-549-9416 and is for emergencies only.
17. Then entry gate must be locked at all times.
18. Please limit showers to 2 minutes/shower.
19. Pool keys are issued to new members or exchanged for previous members at the open house (see website for dates). If you are unable to attend the open house, please contact a board member to obtain a key. Members will incur a $25 fee for lost or stolen keys.
Behavioral Procedures:
· If a swimmer does not follow the rules, a lifeguard on duty will give them
a verbal reminder of the rule and ask them to change their behavior.
· If they continue to not follow the rules (the same rule or a different rule),
the lifeguard will give them a second warning.
· If they continue to not follow the rules, they will be made to leave the
pool. If they are an un-accompanied minor, the lifeguard will make a note
of their name and what happened and leave it for the pool manager. The
pool manager will contact the minor’s parents to inform them of the rule
infraction and that their child was ejected from the pool.
· An unaccompanied minor who is ejected from the pool 2 times will have
their privilege of going to the pool unaccompanied revoked for the rest of
the summer.
· An adult swimmer who is ejected from the pool will have to speak to the
pool manager, and possibly the board president, before being allowed to
enter the pool again.
· The pool board reserves the right to revoke any individual’s pool
membership because of behavior issues, without refunding membership
fees.
