- Presentations will be selected from each discipline based on how they relate to Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Math associated with agriculture and natural resource conservation.
Presentations on Wednesday should be geared to highlight careers in the agricultural sciences and STEM fields. These presentations will be no more than 10 minutes and will be repeated several times as student groups rotate through the stations.
Your presentation for the career fair might include:
Personal stories/experiences of how you became interested in your discipline
What does your job entail? Or what kind of job/position would be ideal for you when you graduate?
What do you do (or plan to do) for the benefit of agriculture in New Mexico?
It is encouraged to bring tools, photos, props to illustrate your job activities, main interests or responsibilities. Capture your audiences' attention!
Presentations for Thursday and Friday will need to be 20 minute presentations geared for groups of 50 or more elementary students. If you would like to work with smaller groups at your presentation, you are welcome to work as a team in order to have smaller groups. For example: Your team of 4 represents the Entomology, Plant Pathology, and Weed Science Department at NMSU. There are 2 entomology presenters and one each for pathology and weeds. Instead of one person talking to a group of 40 students about one aspect of this multi-disciplinary department, you each will have groups of 10 students. Two groups will hear about insects, the third will hear about pahtology, and the fourth about weed science.
Reminder: These presentations also need to have a focus on the agricultural sciences and/or natural resources/ conservation.
