GENERAL STATEMENT OF ELIGIBILITY & PRIORITY AND TIMELINE AND STRATEGIES
September is National Recovery Month. The Georgia Council on Substance Abuse (GCSA), through a contract from the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is currently seeking applications for Join the Voices for Recovery :"Strengthen Familes and Communities" mini-grants. Grants of up to $2,000 each are available to support events during National Recovery Month, September 2017.
Grants will be awarded to agencies, community coalitions, or groups with recovery-oriented projects and/or other activities that focus on celebrating or promoting Recovery Month.
Every September, SAMHSA sponsors Recovery Month to increase awareness and understanding of mental and substance use issues and celebrate the people who recover (SAMHSA, 2017).
The overall purpose of the Join the Voices for Recovery: "Strengthen Familes and Communities" mini-grant program is to increase the number of Recovery Month activities, participation, and knowledge statewide. This program will promote the benefits of recovery for individuals, families and communities through education, training and celebrating recovery as a reality in the lives of thousands of Georgians.
