Rules and Eligibility
To be considered applicants must:
Plan to enroll in a Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows ski or snowboard team in the coming winter season.
Submit all required materials outlined below by
• Completed Scholarship Application with signed Code of Conduct and Volunteer Commitment
• Applicant’s Report Card or Transcript
• Applicant’s Personal Statement.
Submit any of the additional materials outlined below by
• Verification of scholarship or financial assistance from other sources; and
• Letter from the parent / guardian of the applicant explaining the need.
• Academic Recommendation Form (completed by a teacher or academic mentor)
• Athletic Recommendation Form (completed by a coach or athletic mentor)

**Late applications will not be considered.**
In addition to your application, your file must include an Academic Recommendation Form and an Athletic Recommendation Form. These may be downloaded from the SAF Scholarship page in PDF format. They must be completed by the relevant party and submitted by email to firstname.lastname@example.org by July 30th in order for your application to be considered complete.
If accepted, the athlete must plan to participate in 75% of the program, including training and competitions, if applicable. If the applicant is not meeting the participation requirement a verbal or written warning may be issued. If the lack of participation continues additional warnings may be issued with immediate suspension or revocation of scholarship benefits possible.
Additionally, if accepted, the athlete must be a full-time student and maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 or other such equivalent standard. If the athlete is not meeting this requirement a verbal or written warning may be issued along with immediate suspension or revocation of scholarship benefits possible.
Note: All scholarship recipients’ parents must volunteer within the foundation. Volunteer assignments will be determined based on skills and availability. Funds must be raised each year in order to ensure continued availability of funds for scholarship disbursement.
