    READ AND CHECK ALL*

CODE OF CONDUCT. You acknowledge and agree to adhere to the following Code of Conduct at any class, event, activity, field trip, meeting, party, or anything offered by The Learning Train (aka TLT) or Lowcountry Homeschool Association (aka LHA): -Member families will act in such a way that their words and actions promote the unity and encouragement of fellow home school families.

Members (including all family members, parents, students and their guests) will avoid acting in such a way that is considered disrespectful, offensive, immoral, intimidating or rude.

Members will not use profanity or negative name-calling to anyone. Accusations attacking one's character will not be tolerated on all levels in any form of communication.

Any form of bullying by any aged person is not allowed.

Member families will avoid gossiping to or about other families.

Members will do their best to help other moms who are struggling with their own children because they're teaching or helping or maybe just have their hands full. The child's needs must come first and other members must be willing to help or take over the lesson, activity, event or presentation. This is a cooperative so we must cooperate with each other and help each other to raise up our children in the way they should go so they will not turn from it. Not telling a parent if their child is being out of line but instead telling others will be considered gossip. This does not help the parent, especially if it is a leader or teacher.

Member families will be responsible for their own children’s behavior to ensure they are acting in accordance with this code of conduct.

If a child needs guidance, we must gracefully and calmly correct any misbehavior and ensure you let the parent know. If the child's misbehavior continues, the parent must take the child until the child can agree to comply with the rules and be respectful to his/her teachers and classmates.

All kids are expected to clean up after themselves and should be encouraged to do so. All parents are responsible for helping with cleaning all the facilities including restrooms and exterior grounds.

Parents agree to help with the following: clean up, "actively" supervise children on the playground, and cleaning tables and floors after lunch and events.

Above all, this is a place to help train up our kids in the way they should go. We trust that all parents have the children's best interest at heart.

PHOTO RELEASE & WAIVER OF LIABILITY. You give express permission for photos taken at events of yourself, your child/children, and your guests, to be: posted online, on the Facebook group or page and yahoo groups, used in a year book, and/or in a member directory (for members only). By participating with or joining this association, and/or any of our online groups, you, your heirs, successors and assigns, hereby forever release, indemnify, and do not hold The Learning Train or Lowcountry Homeschool Association, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents, harmless from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs and expenses arising from or in any way related to participation with this association, group, events, field trips, activities, and meetings. Furthermore, The Learning Train or Lowcountry Homeschool Association is not responsible for the minors in your party at any event or field trip, and expects you to supervise the minors in your care at all times. Transportation is always the responsibility of the parent and not the teacher or TLT or LHA.

RESPONSIBILITIES. All families will help in one capacity or another. Duties include but are not limited to: Cleaning classrooms, lunch room, hallways, restrooms, and the kitchen; playground duty, teach as needed or be teacher's helper as needed; ensure children are cleaning up after themselves and not roaming around the facilities or running around the rooms. I will take the initiative to do what I can to help and not wait to be asked or reminded.

PARTICIPATION. In order to maximize the co-op experience, I agree to participate each week except for when a family member is ill or there is an excusable reason. I understand if I am planning to be absent, I will notify the Leadership Team and Teacher at least 30-60 days in advance, so as not to waste supplies and to make any needed supervision changes that I was being counted on to do. IMPORTANT: Lack of participation may result in termination of your membership at The Learning Train. Continuation of your participation is solely up to the Leadership Team.

ALL MEMBERSHIP REQUIRES APPROVAL: Leadership Team, and/or Founder reserves the right to refuse membership to anyone for any reason and also reserves the right to revoke/terminate membership with or without cause at any time. The Leadership Team Member will contact you if your membership was approved. New members will have a conditional probation period of 30-60 days (approximately 3-6 co-op days).

Background checks are valid for five years, or until the listed expiration date if using an alternative source. You may complete a background check through the co-op for $30.
