Travel, both local and international, introduces unique cybersecurity concerns. Travelers are often more vulnerable to theft, malicious software, and covert surveillance over unsecured networks. In addition, international travel also involves privacy and data import/export laws that are different from those in the United States.

I verify that my trip does require me to take a college owned laptop for use on college related business.I have discussed with the AIT Service Desk the available options of taking a temporary loaner laptop in lieu of my college issued primary use laptop. (Enter ticket number below.)I verified the country(ies) I will be traveling to will allow the encrypted laptop to travel with me.I verified my data is backed up.I verified that VPN is installed and I know how to use it.I verified my device is encrypted.I verify that my device has a passcode/PIN to unlock the screen when coming out of sleep.I verify that I have changed my password for my college email and network access, and will change them again when I return.I will disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when not needed. (aka place the device into Airplane Mode.)

While on my trip:*

I verify I will not allow anyone else to use or borrow this device.I will use VPN to access college systems or data.I will keep the device secure.I will not plug in external storage devices to the computer.I will not use public USB charging stations.

When I return from my trip:*

I will have the AIT Service Desk run a virus/malware scan on the computer.I will change my password for my email and network access.
