SILENT AUCTION FAQ
The 2017 Yield to the King Ministry 1st Annual Fundraiser with Silent Auction is Saturday night on September 23rd!
Here is the silent auction FAQ. Please read through the information even if you think you don’t need to. There’s information about free parking below. If you are participating in the silent auction you will receive a copy of the catalog at the auction.
Where is the auction?
The silent auction is at Luther’s Table (419 S 2nd St, Suite #1) in Renton, Washington, across the street from Renton High School and the IKEA Performing Arts Center.
Do I need to pay to participate in the silent auction in advance?
Yes, you you will need to pay the suggested donation for a ticket for the fundraiser in advance through Brown Paper Tickets or Yield to the King Ministry’s website, or at the door. Participation in the silent auction is included in the suggested donation for the fundraiser ticket.
What are we raising the money for this year?
The money we raise at our 1st Annual Fundraiser with Silent Auction will help feed, clothe and shelter the homeless. We currently prepare and serve lunch at Peace for the Streets by Kids from the Streets on the 4th Tuesday of every month. We also donate food to the tiny house villages, tent cities and periodically serve lunch or dinner at other day centers and shelters in the greater Seattle area. We want to increase our feeding program to reach more homeless people.
When does the silent auction begin?
The fundraiser and silent auction begins at 5:30 PM. Registration, check-in or donation for a ticket upon entrance will allow you to participate in the silent auction. Arrive early to allow time to bid on the many wonderful items we have. The 1st Base Silent Auction section will close at 6:15 PM. The silent auction will take place from 5:30 PM to approximately 7:45 PM. The event will end at 8:30 PM. We will completely closeout before or by 9:00 PM.
What should I wear?
The attire for the evening is casual to business casual.
Where do I park?
Free parking is available in back of the front entrance of Luther’s Table restaurant and there is street parking in the general vicinity.
What happens when I arrive?
As you enter Luther’s Table you will see a registration table in the entrance area. When you sign-in you will receive a packet with a bid number, auction catalog, and an auction addendum (if there are additional auction items).
You will have time to enjoy music, delicious hors d'oeuvres, food, and dessert stations, mingle with other guests, and bid on over 50 silent auction items during this portion of the night.
At 5:30 PM the silent auction begins, during which time you will have the chance to bid on vacation opportunities, professional services, artwork, sports venue tickets, restaurant dining, handmaid jewelry, gift baskets, and other merchandise.
Weaved into the silent auction activity there will be six prize drawings, a featured pianist, opening remarks from a board of directors member, a brief message from the Executive Director, an opportunity to hear from a Yield to the King Ministry program recipient, and a special guest appearance from a well-known pianist, soloist, choir director and music instructor.
Immediately following the 1st Base, 2nd Base and 3rd Base silent auction closings (at approximately 6:15 PM, 7:00 PM and 7:45 PM) there will be plenty of time to mingle before you check out. You can check out any time during the evening after the silent auction closings, but the majority of people will check out between 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
How does the bar work?
The bar is sponsored by Luther’s Table, not Yield to the King Ministry. A bartender will manage the bar and accept cash or credit/debit cards for payment. You will have the option of purchasing beer or wine throughout the evening. Water will be available free of charge. Other beverages are available by ordering from the Luther’s Table standard restaurant menu.
Is there assigned seating at the auction?
There is no assigned seating at the auction. For the silent auction you are walking around in the designated silent auction area. There are places to sit throughout the dining area if you’d like. Retain your bid packet throughout the evening.
What form of payment is accepted at the Auction?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, checks or cash as forms of payment for the silent auction night. You will have the option of completing the check-out and payment process after the 1st Base, 2nd Base or 3rd Base closings at their respective times or between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
You MUST pay for all auction-related items the night of the silent auction. Your purchase will be matched with your bid number. We will review all auction receipts that evening and make corrections as needed. Your credit/debit card purchase receipt will serve as your detailed auction receipt the night of the silent auction.
Can I make a donation without participating in the silent auction?
Yes! You can donate by going to the cashiers who are processing the silent auction payments and write a check, donate by credit/debit card, or cash. You may also donate on the Yield to the King Ministry website.
Can I bid on items if I’m not able to attend the auction?
Yes, you can bid by proxy. You may ask for someone to bid on and pay for a silent auction item(s) in your absence. If you are bidding for someone else by proxy, you must follow the normal bidding registration and payment processes.
What will I receive when I leave Luther’s Table?
As a gift from Yield to the King Ministry, you will receive a gift bag, separate from any drawings or awarded silent auction items, as our way of saying thank you for your support.
